Turn Engine Off but Maintain ACC Power

Is there anyway to turn off the engine but maintain ACC power? I HATE being on a call and turning the car off and the bluetooth disconnects because the car went completely off. I've tried everything (long press, keep car in N or D, etc.) and I can't figure it out. In my Lexus, you have to keep the car in D or N when pressing the start/stop button to keep the car in ACC when the engine shuts off.

As a secondary, is there anyway to disable the "time-out" feature when you are in ACC mode? After 10min or so of being in ACC mode the car just turns off completely. I imagine this is a safety feature to prevent battery drain, but come on. It will take more than 10 mins of radio to kill the battery.
 
that's interesting! I would imagine turning the car off while in N or D would do just that. Did you have your foot on the brake by any chance while hitting the start/stop button? also maybe try putting the emergency brake on?
 
I've tried every combination of those things and nothing..the car just shuts fully off. I even tried doing a quick double tap of the start/stop button as I read somewhere that worked in some older model G cars. I've given up, lol.

I did figure out the Acc timeout function - it disables the time out feature if a door is open or if the drive selector is in anything other than park.
 
ok so I had my Ipod playing and wanted to shut the car off while keeping the ipod (which is connected via USB in the arm rest) so while the car is running I hit the start/Stop button twice and the car shut off while the ipod music kept playing.
 
using the phone via bluetooth might be different though. I will try that next and let you know what I find.
 
If you double-tap the engine start button quickly while the car is on it will switch the engine off but go into ACC mode. I don't know how long it will say in ACC mode before turning the power off completely, but I think its worked longer than 10 min for me. Let us know how it works for you.
