TS ECU Flash VS California Smog Inspection

Hey fellow FX'ers. I am the original owner of a FX45, dealer delivered it to me in November 2003. I want to have a true dual exhaust installed, CAI and the TS ECU reflash performed on my ride. I know I should have the mods done in the order listed, but I really feel the need for immediate gratification, TS ECU mod. I called and spoke to the receptionist and asked about their experience with meeting CA smog test after a reflash. She said it should pass if my car is stock. I had my first smog test last November. The test station had never done an FX before so it took them a long time, but it passed, no problem. So has anyone had any real life experience with the ECU mod and passing the CA smog test? This question was irrelevant when TS was cracking the ECU code, but our cars are coming of age and the Gestapo (CARB & AQMD) are now requiring biannual inspections for our vehicles.:mad.:

Since you are in CA, I would take the time to drive to TS and get a custom dyno tune. I don't know how it's done in CA, but previously in IL, they used to put those hoses on the exhaust etc... Now with newer cars (2003 included), they just use the OBII, plug it in and if there aren't any thrown codes, you pass.

That's my experience anyways in IL, which can be vastly different that CA I understand.

Just get the custom tune and they can make sure you can pass.
