The transmission on my FX50 will not engage DS mode or respond to paddle shifters. Otherwise, everything is fine in the normal mode.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Could it be low transmission fluid?

Thanks

If the car drives fine in D mode and is shifting fine then that means either a trans solenoid is failed or the shifter assembly has failed and will need to be replaced. Regardless it will need to be taken to the dealership. I would recommend googling g37 forums about about the D/S mode. As a few members on that group have experienced the same issue your describing. Best of luck.

Thank you! $1,100 later, the shifter assembly has been replaced and everything is back to normal.

This brings up another topic. The shifter assembly had to come from Japan and took a month to arrive. The FX50 (QX70 5.0) is a rare Infiniti and getting parts can possibly be a nuisance. Case in point, my dealer has been open for a year and a half and my FX50 is only the 2nd one they've seen. Does anyone have production numbers on the FX50's?

Unfortunately no. The fx35,37,50 were all bunched together so getting individual production numbers on the fx50s is basically impossible. But its a very rare car. Ive had to order a few things from japan and dubai. If you need oem parts and they arent available in the US use these sites. Amayama.com and partsouq.com. I have bought a discontinued fx50s powersteering pressure hose and a few other things.
