Vehicle: 2006 FX35 AWD, ~33k miles, OEM 20-inch wheels and tires.

Symptom: When backing with the steering wheel turned to the left, the vehicle hesitates to proceed in the reverse direction. I do not notice the symptom when backing straight or with the steering wheel turned to the right.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any help and/or advice is greatly appreciated.

never heard of this.....but with a 2006 and 32k miles warranty will cover it.

i'm facing this problem since long time ago (maybe one year). i told the dealership about this problem and the mechanincal guy checked the car several time and couldn't figure out what cause this sound :err:.

last time they told me that i need to change the brake rotors and maybe they caused the sound. i changed the rotos few weeks ago but the sound is still there.

one of my friends told me that he faced the same issue with his nissan maxima and it was from the power steering hose!?

btw, Vehicle: 2006 FX35 AWD, ~80K kilometer, OEM 20-inch wheels and tires.

Thanks FXJojo!
But this isn't really a sound (I have that issue too). What happens is when you are backing up with the wheels turned, you can feel the car hesitating like something is binding.
