Hi guys,
I recently started noticing an issue with my transmission when I'm overtaking someone in automatic mode and regardless if on the highway or in the city.
For example, I'll be cruising on the highway doing 65mph(110kmh~) and the tranny is in 5th gear at this point, i hit the gas pedal and hold it making the tranny downshift, then i'll let go of the gas pedal completely and as I see the revs come come to say around 2,000rpm I feel like a sudden bump on the car as if someone tapped on the brakes and the revs bounce up a few rpms.
Now this only happens when the transmission downshifts when I floor the gas pedal. Normal driving the shifts are all smooth. In manumatic mode I don't see any issues either.
I can do the same thing in the city at lower speeds, but in the city if I get the tranmission to downshift by hitting the gas, the revs go down below 1,000rpm hitting say 700~750rpm then bounces up after I feel the bump. The bump isn't harsh and almost feels like when an engine misfires.
Is that normal? Has anyone else ever experienced this?
I've performed the following(I forget the exact reset names below):
- Reset ECU
- Idle control valve reset
- Gas pedal reset
- Air volume reset
- Clearned throttle body
- Checked PCV valve and cleaned
I also notice that my revs drop steadily then drop fast for the last bit when releasing the gas pedal completely. Does the FX have an idle control valve? I havent been able to find one and not sure what controls it unless its the throttle body that does it.
