Transmission oil change

Bought a used 2005 FX35 and made an appointment with the Infinity dealer in Tampa for a 30K maintenance visit.

I requested just the important stuff. No wiper blades and or air filter changes. I wanted an engine and transmission oil change.

Strangely enough he does not recommend changing the transmission oil until 60K.

I am probably going to have the transmission the oil changed anyway, however what's the consensus of this group? Am I throwing money away or making a prudent decision?

Thanks

you should do it. I am getting a 30k service and having them do it. If yo have other shops change the trans oil, make sure they use the correct Nissan Trans fluid (J-Matic?) because there are diffrent types.

Definatly have the transmission changed and you should be able to do the other stuff yourself if you want to save money. It was good to have the peace of mind knowing it was done as well as the checks they did on the rest of the car. These checks are a good thing especialy since you just purchased the car and don't know what you have .:nerd:
