Transmission locked

So I was driving from a red light and accelerated. For some reason, my transmission wouldn't leave 1st gear. No warning lights popped. I threw my car into manual and tried to shift up or down with no prevail. Shift paddles did not work either. It did not go above 2o mph.

I pulled over, shut the car off, and turned it back on and everything was normal. The only other time it happened was when i was going up very steep hills in town and it sounded as if the transmission was having trouble hunting for the right gear.

I've drove it for a few days and everything still seems normal.

This ever happen to anyone? I had my FX50 updated with the transmission reflash last year.
 
This same thing happen to me I did the same turned it off then turned it back on and it was fine, I don't kno what or why it did that tho
 
When you mean stuck in first gear do you mean it feels like it wouldn't go when you gave it gas?

This happened to me before after doing some pretty heavy spirited driving. I was pushing her to her limits and when I got back to my town and I was at a stop light and then it accelerated it felt like the car was stuck in a gear and wouldn't go. Only happened that one time and never happened again.

Yes, i already completed the transmission reflash.

Thats exactly what happened, but it felt like it was more of a computer thing rather than a mechanical thing. It's the 2nd time it happened to me.
 
+1, I was taking a on ramp hard, had it in Manuel mode,shifted out of 2nd, then when i got to about 5k in 3rd, it shifted in to 4th with out me doing anything.

once it did I lost power, car started to coast, then I saw rpms do nothing, I went to normal drive mode no luck, back to Manuel, the car started to accelerate for 5 seconds but limp, then started to not work, I went to neutral and back no luck until I was going about 35 on the free way!!!, then it automatically fixed it self and hasn't happened since,

how ever this is a big scarey, I didnt get any CEL, also seems like a computer issuse not mechanical,

Would be nice to hear anyone else this happened too
 
wow that's crazy. Luckily I've had no problems.

I had a friend with a malibu that wouldn't get out of 1st gear and he needed a new trans to fix it, but it sounded horrible too, so this obviously sounds computer related.

Guys, I would remove the negative battery for awhile and put it back on....it resets the trans memory. Might have lots of crap in there and needs a good reboot.
