Sorry if this is a double post but i didnt find my other post, probably forgot to hit post. Any who my girlfriends old car had a transmission leak. We took the car to get it fixed and it turns out that some pipe was rusted which seemed reasonable. Under the car theres a lot of rust from harsh winter weather in canada. Droped about 500 dollars for new pipes and transmission fluid. Now a few months down the road we are noticing small puddles which to me match the color of the transmission dip stick (both pink). It just seems odd that after a visit that there is another leak. I would figure that as a good mechanic you would do a flush and make sure there's no other leaks. There are a few small puddles that make bigger puddles. Ones located near the bottom of the engine and another puddle near the back. I don't mind going back to the shop but i dont want to have more and more problems like they are trying to scam us.

How old of a Pontiac are we talking?
My '69 had a bout with leaky trans cooler lines for a while. It was a leak at the radiator fitting that would drip back to the trans. Sometimes they can be tricky and with a slow leak, it may be tough for a mechanic to detect in the short turn.

its a 2006 with 186,000km on it. Also in Ontario Canada is, napa, canadian tire places to get a headlight bulb? In the states im use to going to a auto zone.

Speaking of Pontiacs...I had a 96 Grand Prix GTP Supercharged...car gave me a shitload of problems but with some small mods...cat-back exhaust
and higher boost pulley...it was a beast!!

The most likely culprit is the cooler lines as someone has said. Doubly so since that's what the shop replaced; I'd guess something wasn't tightened correctly which happens all the time. Only other culprit would be the pan itself, there's a gasket and on an older car, it can leak. I don't think there would be a leak from where the engine actually mates to the transmission although it can happen; but lines or pan would be my guess. Try to wipe away the fluid and then check it again after driving to see if you can find where it originated from.
