Transmission Fluid selection?

Hey guys.
I want to thank you guys for helping me w/ the motor oil selection. B/c of you guys, I now have the best motor oil (mobil 1 EP) and oil filter (K&N).

I want to take care of my transmission oil. I want to flush everything out and pour in THE BEST ONE.

What do you guys recommend? I'm looking for the best quality (just like Mobil 1EP).

Nissan/infiniti recommends only J matic transmission oil be used in their auto trannys. I do not know if anyone has any other brands. I would recommend keep using nissan J Matic transmission oil.

J Matic, I heard, is full synthetic. It's quality fluid

I use Royal Purple. I have no issues with my tranny.

I'd only use J Matic. It's the only fluid that Nissan recommends for use by name. Everything else is OEM or equivalent.

Is there any way I can buy the J Matic Fluid online/at a store and have my local mechanic flush it out? I want to save some money w/ labor cost!

Not often. I think the maintenance schedule says 60k.

I was told this by Rookie (Viet)...

Nissan/Infiniti will take samples of the fluid to check for contamination when something goes wrong with the transmission. If you have warranty on you TM, DO NOT ADD ANYTHING, or USE OTHER OILS. This will void your warranty on the Transmission.

Courtesy Nissan wanted $130 or $160 i forgot, for a drain and fill. They didn't recommend a flush, but I think they don't have the capacity at that dealership to do a flush. He said they usually drain 6qts, and fill back 6qts on the Murano, and he said it should be about the same for the FX. All that talk with the service manager and i did it myself. I used S matic and did it myself using the write up. I think they charged $10 a quart, i forgot.

I wonder why you used S-matic? I know these trannys are very particular with the type of fluid you put in. . . not to mention the warranty requires the use of genuine Nissan J-matic.

A couple of years ago, the J matic fluid was about $11 a quart. The tranny needs 10 7/8 quarts of fluid (about $121 in fluid alone for a complete flush and refill), so be weary of a fluid change or flush that is too inexpensive.

From the owner's manual:

Using automatic transmission fluid other than Genuine Nissan Matic J ATF will cause deterioration in driveability and automatic transmission durability, and may damage the automatic transmission, which​

is not covered by the INFINITI new vehicle limited warranty.
