Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum and would like to ask for your advice.
I bought a 04 fx35 off of my bro and right now it has 120k (km) on it.
He says he never changed the transmission oil before... I know that's crazy.
I dunno why but anyways, as for the transmission itself it's very smooth, no noise, shifts into gears right on time.
So here's my question. Should I do a transmission oil change now after all that 7 years of not having the oil changed? I would never do the flush but just afraid that even opening up the unit for oil change would rack the seals and etc cuz it's been shut for 7 years...
Please let me know what you guys think.
Thanks a lot and I love this forum there's so much useful information!

Thanks for your input gto.
What would happen if I don't change the oil as it runs fine and probably will up to say 200k?
I know this sounds stupid but this mechanic who took a look at my car even said that FX35 doesn't need transmission oil change not that I believe him... but he told me this after going through his computer that showed the type of transmission oil we use.

Will definitely change it this weekend.
75,000 miles = 120,700 km I'm currently at 120,300 km!
Just about time, man what a great timing.
Thanks again for your help guys.

The further you go past the recommended service interval, the shorter the service life of your transmission will become. To answer your question directly; It probably will fail before you get to 200K.
