Transferring music to the Music Box

Hi everyone,

I'm finally getting used to all the technology in the FX. It's been almost a month since i've purchased the car and i couldn't be happier with it.

I do have a question about the Music Box. I've found the only way I can record music to it is from a music cd. Is there any way to record/transfer MP3's to it? From an MP3 cd or USB memory card?

Thanks,

I was wondering the same thing. I know the manual says you can only do it with a regular CD, and the mp3 CDs I play don't prompt the "Record" button to come up. It would be nice to be able to download mp3s onto the hard drive instead of taking up a bunch of space with wav files. I'm wondering if it will read mp3s off of a DVD-R to play so I can just keep 1-2 DVDs in the car and just listen to them... I'll have to try it sometime. Not worth it for me to burn a bunch of CDs just to upload songs to the hard drive. Besides, I hear it doesn't provide the proper song tags unless you use the original CD

A little out-of-thread question: guys, I bought my car 6 months ago and was always listening to music from my iphone. Two days ago I bought some cd's and decided to insert them into the car's audio system and noticed that I can only insert 1 cd!!! In my previous 08' FX35 I was able to insert up to 6 cd's!
Am I getting it right, that 2-ng Gen FX's can handle only one cd!?

Ya only one cd, they do that so you can just transfer each cd to the music box. No need for 6 discs

I've tried the Music Box! Quality is perfect! I'm a real music fan and I hear if the music is in high quality or not. Theese sounds like a CD))) No quality loss)
I'm so happy! Downloaded 6 cd's to my music box))ete4ate4.jpg

Why bother with the music box? Plug in an iPod and have at it. I have an old 80Gb model and have 12,000 songs. The music box is 9Gb - should be good for more than 50 CDs.

I just use a usb to play music. Too much of a hassle to make cds. Still hate the fact that the song plays as soon as you hover over a new song...

Does anyone know the max size of USB stick you can use. And what format it needs to be? I've been having issues with a 64GB. Won't read.

Not sure if this helps, but I've been using a 32gb USB stick to play music videos and it works fine for me.

That's interesting. How did you get Video to play on the screen? Is it because you have Navigation? What format are you using for the video's?

I think I'm using mp4 format, but ill check when I get back. You should be able to play video even without the Nav.
