Transfer case fluid for 2005 FX35

Hi everyone,

Need to replace my tranny fluid and transfer case fluid..Just need someone to comfirm that the REDLINE D4 can be used.
Redline's website states that it is compatable with Nissan D/J/K/S.for my FX35 2005 AWD but Just need some reasurrance from the guys on the best forum(IS) to comfirm.

Also heard that one member said that his infiniti dealership said he could use the front/rear differential fluid(70w 80) for his transfer case..isn't that too thick? It should be pretty thin like the tranny fluid..Correct guys?

Finally The transmission transaxle lubricant is for the front/rear diffs..Is that correct? Thanx

I definitely would not use the differential fluid (gear oil). Since it calls for tranny fluid, I'd use it. I have had Amsoil ATF (which meet D/J/S spec, not sure about K) in my transfer case since 30K (now have 73k) and have not had any issues - so I think you'd be fine with Redline if it meets the D/J/S spec.

Hi buddy, Thanx for ur reply...Yes, i will use the Redline D4 for my tranny and transfer case..BTW.Where is the transfer case situated as I am a noob with engines..I heard it needs about a quarter of fluid(1 bottle) Any help would be great as I will do the change this week some time..Thanx bro!

please correct me about the transfer case location for infiniti fx35 AWD
is the rear differential and frount differential is the treansfer caseb or the transfer case is different
please help me with location where is located.
