Trans coolers

IIRC, 3/8" is closest in size to OEM fittings (they may actually be 5/16"). I had to clamp down the 3/8" hose quite a bit on the OEM barbs to prevent leaks.
 
Thanks for that Shadow! I didn't read the whole post before I posted. Looks like I reiterated some of what you & others already said. Good info. Looks like you've got your's mounted sideways? As I understand it, that's the way to do it for a couple reasons.
All three installs look great & JR's is tricked out as usual.
Thinking B&M's total kit w/fans for both coolers & fit'n on put'n one on either side of the radiator & as low as I can get'em without seeing'em protrude below the body is what I'll do, behind the fogs. Digg'n the mishimoto setup but not digg'n what they want for it.
 
Yes, it's sideways and the top hose is the inlet. That's the way B&M recommends and it makes sense to maintain fluid flow/pressure and ensure it doesn't overwhelm the pump.
 
Hi..i bought this one..Derale tranny cooler/fan combo With internal T-Stat..Fan kicks on when fluid temp reaches 180ish and turns off when it goes back down to 165...I live in Taiwan and weather here is super hot and humid..I like it when it goes a little past 200 Degrees on super hot days and when u turn the engine off..U can hear the fan still on cooling the tranny fluid back down to 165 B4 it shuts off..Sounds awesome...My neighbors keep asking me what that sound is when I turn off my engine..A little like the Turbo timer but the tranny fan sounds awesome..Will have to record a few seconds if I remember...Derale is a quality brand and their plate/fin 15 row coolers are much better than the B&M Super cooler I just took off..Anyway want the B&M for a good price..let me know..only used for 3 months

In what way is the derale better than b&m? I can think of one way - read many say the fans don't work or don't come on until temps are way beyond 180* but I think they f'd up the wiring.
 
Still curious as to why you think derale is better than b&m? Come on dragonh, cough it up!
I found you're thread about tans coolers. Looks like you had the same issue that many have w/the B&M fans not functioning properly. I might just go w/derale or back to my original choice-mishimoto.

DH pm'd me a couple months ago. Derale does appear to be the better choice. Since then, I've decided to go another route to add hp and I have some advice to those that don't plan on going with huge power, and more importantly, for extended periods of time.
A shift kit should help as well as swapping your trans fluid a little more frequently than recommended by the fsm. Get any shit out of the way that might block flow in front of or behind the radiator. Whether you've got stock exhaust manifolds or headers, you can blanket them while on the FX using a couple brands, some better than others (search header blanket) which won't do shit for the trans but will keep heat of the engine and out of the bay. Also, shielding or wrapping the cats and exhaust pipes, at least what's near the transmission, will keep external radiant heat off the transmission thus providing some relief without an added external cooler.
Get a transmission temp sensor to monitor if you're still concerned and that will tell you if it would be wise to add an external cooler.

Well said bro..I love my trans cooler with fan..even cools down the fluid after turning the engine off..Sounds awesome too..
