TPMS question

Having a problem with one of the sensors, and now it's finally reading 0. Both my other vehicles have TPMS, but they state which TPMS is which.....eg LF/RF etc. The FX does not. It's the second one from the top - does anyone know which tire that's referencing?

Also, what needs to be done to remedy the problem? Can I purchase one sensor and having it installed - or is that wishful thinking?

Thanks.....

The system looks for 4 signals to receive data from. It displays them in no particular order on the nav screen. If you have the time and patience, you can remove one wheel at a time and use the spare to isolate the trouble wheel. If one battery or sensor is going bad, others may likely follow. There are a few threads on here explaining what seems to be the same situation as yours. It might be getting to the time to replace all 4.

I, honestly, don't know how the set the wheels to TPMS monitor. But for mine, it was:
1. LF
2. RF
3. LB
4. RB

But Autozone rotated my tires, sooo my back tires are now my fronts :/
They said they'd have to reset my TPMS system to make it accurate, but they never did it. :mad.:

TPS are more of an annoyance than help in my opinion. Especially during the winter months. I've driven other cars in the past where they kept going off repeatedly, even after added alittle air in there. I'm just glad my TPS reads *** in my car. Although alittle more work to check the pressures manually with a gauge, it's definitely less of an annoyance.

Lol how did autozone rotate ur tires?

I bought the FX for my wife, so I'll probably just replace all four sensors. Wouldn't be surprised if they were the original ones, if so, they've held up pretty well. What should I expect to pay for new sensors, and where's a good place to purchase them?

Thanks for all the replies.................:smile (2):

Life is 4-7 years on the battery, depending on use. I bought the cheaper aftermarket ones from the above site.

Most sensors last about 5-7 and/or 100k miles..

Never heard of all four going bad at the same time. Most just replace one at a time.
