TPMS antenna

Hey guys, got a question. Anyone know anything about the receiver or the antenna for the TPMS system? I've had my right rear reading -- for the past 2 years and I had always assumed it was the TPMS sending unit in my rim that had failed. Recently I just bought 4 new sensors and installed them on my new rims. Everything paired up fine and was working perfectly for 3 days then the right rear stopped reading again. I decided to swap RR and LR rims to make sure it was that corner not reading and not the TPMS on that rim. Same problem. Right rear still not reading. 2 weeks later and now my right front isn't registering either. I'm guessing that it's the receiver unit that is the problem although it seems the antenna could also be a factor although I'm still not clear if the first gens had an antenna or not. I can't find much info regarding problems of this sort since most problems seem to stem from sensors having bad batteries and stuff
Anyone have any info on the location of the unit or any tests to figure if the problem is from the unit or from the antenna or anything else? Most I seem to be able to find is the replacement part diagram which shows it's in the dash behind the stereo but there aren't any pics I can find of the actual unit so I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for.
If anyone has some insight i'd be grateful

I was curious so I searched and this appears to be it

Can't be too many boxes back there that look like that. I looked up the part number and it's listed as the TPMS module for a 350Z, but perhaps they're interchangeable. I'm curious as well since I've been told that mine is bad and that's the reason 4 different shops can't program my sensors.

Thanks Shadow, it seems that there isn't an antenna with this then or the antenna is remote from the unit. I honestly can't remember seeing anything like this in the dash but now I actually have a visual reference to use so that'll make it easier. I used that part number and found another one on ebay that shows the mounting bracket too so that gives a little reference for size and how it's mounted. Hopefully I can look this weekend. Thanks for the info!

Good luck, if you manage to fix this, let me know. If the control unit is the problem, I'll look into replacing mine. I haven't been able to set my sensors for years now. Always thought it was the sensors themselves. But I've tried 3 separate sets now and the shops all tell me that the sensors can be read into the scanner, but they can't communicate with the module so the module must be bad. I always thought they were just trying to sell me the module, but maybe they're right.

Just thinking, Jeff, Are yours originals? The batteries do go bad.
As far as the OPs new ones, that could be different problem.

Nope, on my 3rd set now. Swapped out first one because I thought batteries. Same with 2nd set since shop thought batteries now on 3rd set. Now I'm pretty sure it's not the sensors themselves. It's just very low on my priority list so it may go a year between times I go to a shop to try and resolve this.

And for mine they were all reading at first(new ones) then they slowly started dropping off. First the right rear which wasn't working for awhile with my original sensors and now my right front. The sensors read with a scanner and my system can be programmed from the scanner but no matter if it's the originals or the aftermarket ones and no matter what tire I put on the right corner it won't give me anything except --. I always figured that maybe cause it was the furthest away that maybe it was just out of range but the fact that the original wouldn't read either makes me think that it's not getting the full signal which made me think antenna but I'm not certain their is a separate one or if it's part of that white box.
I've let it go for a number of years now but the laws have changed in Hawaii for safety check and they will fail you if the TPMS light is on. I can get my guy to overlook it but I figure since I shelled out the money for new sensors and stuff I may as well get everything working right too. I'll let you know Shadow what comes of things.
