Hey all. im getting a roof rack for my bike and wont need my hitch. So im looking to get rid of it. how would i take this off? dont i have to take the exhaust off? i think there was a thread about it somewhere but cant find it.. the last thing the 45 needs is weight.. aahha. thanks IS

If yours is an OEM, it pretty involve. I recently took off my OEM hitch. That thing weights in at 50 lb. If your OEM, you will need a new left & right muffler hangers. The left hanger welled onto the hitch and the right hanger is bolt on, but cannot reuse it once the hitch is remove. You do need to take the muffler off in order to take the hitch out. I tried, no way it can be done without removing the muffler. I'm in colder climate, the threads in the frame got rusted away and I can't use the new OEM hangers that I bought. If you need them, I will sent them your way cheap. I ended up hatch saw the hanger off the hitch and reuse the hitch mounting holes.
