My 2011 FX50 spent quite a lot of time (months) with the battery disconnected (engine was being replaced).
The touch screen worked before, but now is unresponsive. The display is working and I can control the unit using the buttons. Self diagnostics says no problem with anything.
I disassembled the center console and removed the display and took it to a professional who said the touch screen digitizer is dead, gives no signal on the connector, he thinks the wires are corroded on the edge of the display.
My questions:
1. Is there some sort of procedure for resetting the touch panel in case the guy is wrong and it functions? Like the one that I had to do to cancel the Airbag warning light flashing after battery removal.
2. Can this be something related to negative/ground cables not assembled back correctly? Which cable should I check?
3. Do you know of any source for purchasing a new 9" touch panel digitizer that is applicable for this display? I found a lot of 9" digitizers on aliexpress but all have the connector aligned differently.
