If u bought a fx35 awd thinking its fast, well you bought the wrong car. It might be quicker then some cars on the same level like a normal trailblazer, x3 and x5 3.0. Or other silly cuv/SUV. But fact of the matter is you put it up with a quick car and you will see its taillights. A v6 accord/Camry should put you to shame as they run low 14s. Enjoy the fx for what it is, but its not a street racing king.

If you can afford it, but a Stillen supercharger kit for the FX35. That will even the odds for you, unless the locals are driving AMGs and M series BMW's.

So true. I remember going up against an Avalon. Embarrassing... My excuse was to believe it had bolt ons.

Actually Im 38 and I dont come here to be preached at by someone who thinks they are all high and mighty because they fly airplanes. Im a grown man and as a grown man I hold myself accountable for my actions, oh and I dont race on the streets. If you dont like what some people comment on and about fine but dont make it into a personal thing we all come here to have a good time. Godspeed!

I'm one of the Stillen owners, but if I had to pay retail for a sc kit I'd go with the Vortech.

There is also a member here, from TX I believe, with a 500+whp Vortech'd FX...
 
So wich is the better bang for the buck? A friend of mine has a Vortech and I was thinking of going with the Stillen supercharger.
 
Full retail? Vortech by a landslide.

The two benefits of the Stillen kit are 1) CARB certification, and 2) Rock solid reliability if modded correctly.
 
Correct me if I am wrong, I believe for stop light to stop light performance as Ren wants, Stillen might suit better. The Vortech is a centrifugal compressor that it doesn't introduce boost until certain RPM (say 4000 rpm). However, Stillen is direct displacement (? could be wrong term :tongue:) and it reaches the boost level right of the line (start to see torque increase at 2000 rpm). The Vortech has higher potential to go to higher horse power while the Stillen uses an obsolete root supercharger (MP 62) that has a very limited performance potential(if using TVS2300 it will be a different story). Vortech is a more useful kit for track when you can keep it at high rpm. Just my 2 cents.

you posted you beat honda's, acura's and trailblazers.. now don't say this was done all in a track.. so a guy came up to you and said i bet i my maxima can beat your fx and you guys went at it at the track? again ... STOP STREET RACING!!! GET YOUR NEED FOR SPEED ELSEWHERE!!! that's why i posted i get mine at work.. never bragged, never mentioned what i fly..

also your comment made it personal by saying my "fx doesn't deserve me" which i have no problem with, because who gives an argument like that and mainly because it gave me a good laugh.. lol..still does..

you sir, are the one who didn't like me saying the fx is fat and heavy (which it is).. which is why you qouted me..
so, to sum it up.. the fx is not for car racing.. it is FAT and HEAVY... and STOP RACING ON THE STREETS!!!!!

in the news last night , two cars were racing each other in the freeway here in san diego.. a 350z clipped a kia with a mother and kids inside and they hit the center rail.. both the driver and the passenger of the 350z left their damaged car, took off on foot and the other car sped away..
