Tire size suggestions

Okay, the more I read the threads the more I get confused. I am going to be getting a set of 20" factory rims, H&K coils, spacers and tires. I think I have decided to go with the Yokohama Prada Spec-X tires from all that I have read. Just not real sure on the size and spacers. Visually I would like to get something with a lower profile than factory but don't want to sacrifice handling and comfort for appearance alone. With the factory 20" rims do most people go with the 20 mm spacers?

275/45 seems to be a the going choice if you roll with a smaller circumference. Slightly wider, slightly lower. Better torque, speedo will be off just a hair. Stulax has them and likes them a lot. With regards to spacers, 25mm in front and 20mm in the rear.
 
Im in the same situation as you. I currently have Parada Spec's and im very happy with them. Lots of good reviews on them. I am currently running 265/50s, but will switch to 275/45s when i replace the tires. I think with a tad lower tire profile on a lowered fx with spacers will look really good. I dont think that minor side profile will make or break the ride, even with crappy Chicagoland roads. I just checked Discount tire and they are going for only $156 per tire, not too bad at all! I also have H&R springs waiting to be installed and my gtspec stb is arriving tomorrow. Im about to take the plunge and order H&R spacers too. I finally decided to go 25mm up front and 20mm in the rear, getting the DRM spacers with the extra lugs and bolts. I originally decided on DRS ones with just the extended bolts, but changed my mind because I chose the convenience of being able to remove the spacers without getting too involved with it. Also discount tire does not work on cars with spacers, so i figure i can just remove them really quick before going in for service.

I switched over to 275/45/20 back when I needed new tires and wanted a smaller sidewall. There were only a few people who had already done this, but there are a lot more now. Seems most people like them, but it will have more wheel gap and might look bad without a drop.

Here's a comparison between the two.

i just can't seem 2 convince myself with this setup. On a stock springs, i wouldn't bother get 275/45 over 265/50. The present gap is already an eye sore. That extra 1 cm will only add insult to injury.

You talk about H&R spacers and also DRM spacers. Are these two separate things or different brands of the same thing? Will I need to get extended bolts and if so could someone link me to what I would need?

Sorry the DRM and DRS I was talking about refers to H&R Spacers in general. There are two types of them. DRS are the ones with the extended bolts only. DRM bolt to the existing studs and come with extra bolts. the DRMs are a little more expensive but i plan on getting those now for the easier installation and convenience of it. According to H&R's website, everything you need is included with whichever set you decide.

I'm stopping by a shop tonight to see how much it will cost to have them install mount the tires to the rims, install springs, spacers, wheels and align. I'm assuming it will be spendy but want to be sure I'm not getting bent over.

I'm possibly thinking of picking up a set of 245/40/20 front and 295/35/20 rear. I need help. will these work on an awd.please any help needed ASAP before I go purchase them tomorrow afternoon. Thanks
 
Those sizes you select is not good. Their diameter is too small comparing to stock 265/50/20 with a diameter of 30.43.
The 245/40/20 diameter is 27.72 and the 295/35/20 diameter is 28.13, which will give a misleading speed on the speedometer.
You will have to get bigger wheel to accommodates a low profile tire to avoid speedometer variance.
