Tire pressure sensor after tire rotation

Did my first titre rotation today. Do i need to reprogram sensors or car automatically figures out that i changed tire location and will show correctyl.

Or it will show my front tire pressure on monitor ,instead of rears :-) ?

Like wrong numbers ?
 
The car should automatically figure out the tire pressure, positioning shouldn't matter. You have to get it going first though, in other words it won't read the pressure while being still, it will once you start rolling for a bit. At least that's how it's like on mine.

And by positioning I mean front on rears, rears on fronts
 
I read on here & was told by my dealer that once you rotate the tires, the read out location on your screen will not be correct. If you want to keep the "left front" reading the left front tire, youll have to have the dealer reprogram. I think its over $100.00 for this service.
 
On my 1g there is no definition of which tire goes with which number on the screen, just 1, 2, 3, 4. Not LF, RF, LR, RR, nothing like that. When I had my tires unmounted for my powder coating the shop took the sensors out and numbered them so they would go back on the same position they came off of but even if they didn't it wouldn't matter because I don't know which tire goes with which number. They work fine after the re-mounting of the tires.
 
Waste of money! The LCD pressure readout does not does not specify the locations of the individual sensors so it really does not matter.
 
on the first gen, the way the tpms are programmed is 1 2 3 4 , LF RF RR LR, always in that specific order. now of course if you go switching them around then the order will change, but by default they are in this order always...

I'm assuming the 2nd gen actually puts a label to the position making it clearer to the user exactly what's what. if you rotate & are aware of the new position it isn'rt really all that difficult to decipher the new positioning, so you can save the $100 or whatever by just knowing that now LF ir really LR, etc...

yeah, the reading position will change as the wheels are swapped position, but as long as your aware then no need to reprogram each time...

This is true.. on the new cars the graphic actually shows 4 tires in place with the corresponding pressure reading.

I just wish that we didn't have to take the car to the dealer to reprogram the sensors each time we switch from winter to summer wheels.
