Ive been running on coils and 2" drop on rears and lately i noticed my right rear been sitting lower, like barely a finger gap between the wheels plastic arch. Its been rubbing on hard curves. Couple hours ago felt my car very sluggish and something very odd, constant sway. Came to my drive way (uphill, got to go up a sloped curve) and opened the gate (note the tire is now siting on the rear plastic arch due to the angle of how i parked. As i drive into my parking lot i hear something tire scraping against cement, i get out a flat!
Couple questions do you think the rubbing and drop cause the tire to go flat?
Also how many miles can i ride on spare tire? Do you guys recommend putting the spare tire up front and bringing one of the normal tires to the rear and riding that way?

Also forgot to mention running on 265/50/20 tires plus 25mm rear spacers

Have you had the fenders rolled and plastic trim trimmed?

nope, also the plastic trip is not broken or anything under the plastic trim is exposed, like anything sharp

also in the last pic, you can see the tire marks or whatever that caused to leave. Plus i jacked up the car to take all that weight off.

But the metal strip is still there that faces right into sidewall? That will cut up your tires. Puncture? I dunno, Lance had no punctures and I got mine rolled before CO's. Tires never gave me any issues before they were replaced.

Like Stu said you check the metal strip in your wheel well because I'm sittin on CO's with 25mm spacers in the rear and don't have any problems since I had my fenders rolled before hand.

Some of the metal burrs you can't see on the inside are sharp. They are small but they will slice each time you bottom out. In the picture where the tread blocks meet the smooth side wall, is that all sliced up?l

You could also run a lower profile tire for some more clearance--
265/50/20=30.43 height
255/40/20=28.03 height= 2.4 in less height

If I have to run the spare, I would run is on the rear. Steering will be awkward if in the front and if the spare goes, there goes your control. To be safe, run the spare in the rear!

thanks thats exactly what i was thinking

:hahaha: Looking at the previous pics you posted, I wanted to say that it's not due to cuts from bottom out this morning. There were no cut on the side of the tire. Good that you found the problem :top:

bough the tires from costo 4 years ago, payed $1200 for the michelin latitude tour hp. The wheel is on its way to costco for free repair. Hopefully i didnt damage the sidewall driving onto my driveway

Did u really lift at the spring bucket????
Don't do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ur in the same situation as me.

1. Go higher in ride height
2. Small tire
3. More negative camber and a fender roll.

Or a combination of some of the 3

well got the wheel repaired at a mechanic shop, costco said due to the middle part of the tire being worn than the sides due to over inflation, they didnt touch it

Update: the tire that was patched up has been leaking for a month already, i keep feeling with air and 2 days later after 40psi its fown to 8. So i took it too a tire shop they said it cant be fixed or repatched because its close to the sidewall. I called couple of places and they had badly worn tires for 60-85 bucks. Well took the car at a different tire shop and found 50% thread goodyear rsa's the stockers that use to come with.
Wanted to know if any problems will come, i installed them at the rear, my michelins have 30% life left. Also these rsa look wider than the michelin any handling issues?

I've mixed tire brands around. Had some 5/32 and some 8/32 tread. It didn't upset the car. I think 3/32 is the max tolerance these cars allow given same tire size.

If your tires are at 30% for most its 3/32, wear bars are 2/32 normally. I would say consider finding all 4 replacement tires soon.

Agree. I don't think the one RSA will impact the handling of the car, but given the situation, I would replace all four now. The RSA replacement will run you somewhere around $80 - $90. Since other three have 30% left. I would suggest to replace all four now. You will have an odd ball tires for a while if you go with one RSA.
