Tire Dressing

After getting good tips on this forum on how to detail cars, I've finally finished detailing the outside of my car for the first time by washing, claying, hand polishing, and hand waxing [can't afford a pc quite yet ]. Now, I want a good tire dressing for my tires, and so far, couldn't find the one I want. I bought and tried 3 of them so far (foam, clear gel, and watery wax) and don't like any of them. I like the deep, wet look, not necessarily shiny. I remember from long ago when I used to take my car to the car wash places, that they used some kind of white liquid (almost like liquid wax consistency) and I really like that one, but can't seem to find one online. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Are they only available for wholesale? The ones they use in those car wash places? All the retail stores and online reviews have only the foam, clear gel, and watery ones. Can anyone help?

I would like to know which one that is, sounds good. I like the Gold Class Endurance High Gloss from Meguiar's, it is purple in color and does a much better job than the clear one. Does not sling off and lasts even through car washings. Good luck in your search.

I have also been using the Zaino tire dressing for a few years and like the look of it.
I have found after a lot of use the tires tend to go a brownish color after a while.

+1 on Zaino... great shine, doesnt streak or fling onto paint. Very good product.

Your best bet is to order online... never seen it in a store.

I think they may sell in stores only in their local area. Definitely not something widely available. Might also check ebay?

I use Eagle One tire gel.

and it came with a pad.

it works good , not too shiny....

and doesnt make my tires brown

You can get it from thier site or find a local rep to order it from, its not something you'll find off the shelf. Its only thru direct sales.....kinda like Amway lol

For me Black magic works great!!!!!! Go and bUy a Bone sponge from CVS or walgreens; spray it on the sponge and wipe on......... It lasts a long time as well depending on the weather.

I spray my tires once, then I move my FX forward about a foot so that the bottom of the tires is on top. Then I spray them again. After that I detail my wheels.

Your Go To Tire Dressing ??

I did a search for " tire dressings " and found one from 2009 sooo i figured it'd be okay to start a new thread regarding this topic since there's been new products and new opinions since 2009 ???

If I'm gonna get my ride clean I'd always need to finish the " job " with tire shine or what i call " ghetto " shine which I know isn't everyone's preference but I think it doesn't look complete without it IMHO :smile (2):

I've used different dressings from Poor Boy's and Zaino etc etc but haven't been able to stay with just one " go to " brand !! As of late I've been flip flopping between Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Dressing and Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire Gel which are both very , very shiny after a coat or two but I'd always buff off the residue to avoid the dreaded " sling " !!

Our tires are huuuuge and I know I'll be going thru these really quickly with the size of our sidewalls !?!? If I don't have the time and I'm in a real rush I'd often use an aerosol spray like Meguiar's Hot Shine which I could do all 4 tires in less than a minute !!

What are your preference and why ??? Looking forward to hearing what you guys use !!! TIA

Elaine, I still prefer the Zaino tire dressing, I have used it on my last three Infinitis. I like it because it is not too wet looking and does not have a tendency to sling off. I have tried others but keep going back to it.

Thanks Gee :smile (2): I liked Z16 but I guess the attribute of it not being too " wet " looking for others is the reason why I don't use it much though I must have about a half bottle left ?? Here's a picture of my Lexus's tires one time after shining them up and how " wet " i like it :tongue (2):
