Tinny rattle in right rear quarter panel area?

I have noticed a slight "tinny" sounding rattle in the right rear area of my '08 FX35. I can't find anything loose inside the car and I can only notice it on slightly rough roads with the stereo off. I am very picky about this kind of thing and it is really bugging me!

Any ideas?

Thanks,
K

Not sure but check you interior cargo cover or maybe even push the parking brake down one click and see if that gets rid of the noise. If the sound is coming from the exterior rear it could be your parking brake needing an adjustment. The parking brake if loose will make noise over bumps or on rough roads.

there have also been several noise issues traced to the rear seat, try folding it down & see if the noise goes away..

i had that problem before. it's most likely the rear center seat belt hitting the roof

+1 on the parking brake. That rattle is a metallic sounding one over small bumps or irregularities.

i had a HUGE rattle coming from the rear seats. i even took out the seats at the bottom and didnt find anything that could be causing the problem. after coming back from a road trip with the entire car full of people and luggage it just magically disappeared and hasnt come back. ultra weird.

Hey guys,

I checked the seat buckle and that is not it and when I tried to push the e-brake down one click, the car didn't want to move! Any ideas on that?

Thanks,
Kan

It just means you dont need to adjust the e-brake.

Well, I will probably take it to the dealer (2 hours away) and have them check it out next time I am in their area.

Thanks,
Kan
