throttle cleaning service - is it worth it?

this probably falls under misc, but Nissan dealer has offered me the throttle cleaning service [I'm close to my 30k maintenance] for $149 ;)
how needed is that? Is that the DIY?:confused:

Ya that's a DIY, take out the throttle body, clean it and put it back, less than an hour. I think you can use B12 Chemtool throttle body cleaner with a microfiber towel. Be gentle.

I wonder if I should actually start playing with it; I have the '07 with less than 30k miles on it... and will probably end up on the 30k miles service anyhow..;)

the necessity of this DIY depends on the amount of carbon build up on your throttle body. 30k is less miles to be worried about this cleaning. Do a visual inspection and decide what's necessary.

forgot to mention that doing this allows proper flow of air required for combustion. Dirty throttle body may have trouble shutting off when it needs to because of foreign elements stuck inside.
