Throttle Body Cleaning NYC SHOP????

Do it yourself! Pretty easy to take it out and clean... Just the pedal dance to reset it is kinda tricky but that's probably the hardest part...
 
if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself or going to a random shop, the dealer usually will do it for you - but you will probably pay $150 for something that will take you under 1hr yourself.
 
I gotta clean my throttle body soon... Good thing this question came up cause I couldn't find the thread on the other site for the life of me!

I recall someone posted that TB reset may not be required if you disconnect battery before cleaning TB & also avoid having TB flap "snap back". Quote: "disconnect your negative terminal and also disconnect the connector on your throttle body to avoid this problem, because I've clean my throttle body before and everything was fine as long as you disconnect the battery and the throttle body connector"

I also disconnect the battery and am really careful not to slap anything around but I just do the pedal dance anyways, just in case... It takes a few minutes once you figure out what needs to be done.

Keep in mind that a new throttle body is $100-$140 on Amazon and RockAuto. Quotes to clean your TB shouldn't be close to the price of a new one. Not too difficult to do it yourself either!
 
I cleaned my throttle body and maf sensors because my service engine soon light came on so i took it to auto zone to have the code read which was PO506 you don't have to do a reset if you disconnect the negative battery cable with no problems at all.
