Thoughts on Dueler Alenza Plus tires?

All;

I have 19K miles on my OEM 20" Bridgestone on 2012 FX35. Its just horrible and I cant take it anymore ..I also ended up skidding and hitting a pole during a winterstrom where I live last month. Just got my FX back from body shop after 3 weeks for rear quarter panel replacement. Decided I am done with that tire not just for its snow/ice handling but overall roughness and harsh ride. I was also contemplating getting a G37 by trading it however the interior and exterior of FX seems way ahead than G37 in my opinion and want to keep FX.

So, I was looking at the Yokohoma Prada -X and the Dueler Alenza and now I see the Alenza is discontinued and replaced with Alenza Plus. Price difference aside, has anyone use Alenza plus (or old version) and whats your opinion? I am willing to trade some performance if I don't have to grind my teeth when going over every pothole :(..

Appreciate any inputs...

Thanks

Alenza is nice and quiet, but it's more of a touring tire. Go with the Paradas.

I hate my Bridgestones, too. 28,000 miles and they are loud and harsh and horrible in the snow. Paradas for me this fall.

Looking at tirerack, prada was categorized as sport/street truck all season and Dueler as touring. But if I am going after a more softer ride then wouldnt touring category be more appropriate? Or would all season be equally good?

Thanks

It's really your call. To me, our FXs are sport SUVs...the exact type of vehicle the Parada was designed for. The Alenza was made for RX350-type vehicles. Yes, the Alenza will be quieter on the road. But it will not handle as well or have as sharp a turn-in as the Paradas. But only you know how you will drive your FX and what will make you happy. Most guys here are enthusiasts who are will to have a slightly stiffer ride for much better handling.

Keep in the mind the Paradas are going to be much quieter than your Bridgestones and a much better ride anyways.

Good luck.
