I usually average 280-310 miles per a fill up. I drive a even mix of highway and city and average at best, 16.5 miles per gallon. Just went to the dealership last week to have my battery replaced and had my 05 cluster changed out for an 06 (that wasnt by the dealership). But to get to my point... I filled up the fx... and this is a 45 just to let everyone know... about 3/4 of the way. I averaged 19.3 miles to the gallon and got almost 300 miles out of it. Today I fill up, and by the time I fill up I'm at 19.7 miles to the gallon, and the system tells me I have 460 miles till empty! WTF! Another thing I noticed my fx finally let me fill up past 20 gallons at the pump. Barley past 21 gallons to fill up this morning. I know it has a 23 gallon tank though. But I drive to work and now I'm up to 20 miles per gallon. What's the deal... Anyone have this happen? Not really a problem, just kinda scary...:embarrassed:

Also I use fuel additives all the time. Fuel injector cleaner and octane booster but... I've been using that stuff since this time last year soo....

Daily commute is 44 miles

If they changed the battery and had the battery disconnected long enough they may have reset your ECU for you. Some people notice a dramatic change when they reset.

It reset your ECU that's why you get those crazy numbers. if you drive the same way you use to it will go back to normal after few weeks or fill ups. this is the time your ecu adjust to your driving pattern.

Oh ok... The numbers are still the same but the cars producing old figures for miles driven since I filled up. Another question though... the ECU reseting changed what else about the cars characteristics? Pulling from 1st to 2nd at about 70% throttle, it sounds a lot diff. Idk if thats because of the reset or what. But at about 3,000 in first and second the thing starts a low wind. A subdude supercharger sound... Also throttle response is a tad bit diff. You know when u drive your car everyday on end, you notice the slightest things when there's a change... U guys advice to what my baby fx is going through... :frown:

And just in case u ask... the cars in great condition. I'm green on everything but the rear wiper which will have to be changed soon.

Its a very low pitch whine... I sometimes drive with my radio off and when I did I noticed it immediatley... For the throttle... idk. Weather and all types of things can cause slight changes to how responsive the 45's v8 is... but its at a point where it gives me more than I want when when pressed, and its never done that before.
