Hey guys :smile (2):

I wanted to see your opinions about these Ace Convex wheels that I've been eyeing these past few weeks !!?? I want them either in Hyper Silver Machine Finish or Matte Silver but I'm not sure of the size as of yet ?? If I want to get new wheels and perhaps save some $$$ I can try to get these at the same size of the OEM tires or I can simply say " f**k it " ( since bigger is better noooooo :wink (2): ?? ) and look into getting 20" or even 21" though I'm pretty sure 20" should suffice !?!?

Or I can be a really good girl and just wait a few years once my OEM tires are worn out and get the new set of wheels and tires ???

Thanks in Advance as always !!

Nobody likes a good girl Elaine.. I like the wheels design. I would go with the hypersilver color to better accent the chrome and rails on the car, but larger wheels.. A flush setup would be 22x9 et 30 in the front and 22x9 et 25 in the rears with 265-40-22 tires. DO IT!! Mabuhay!

+1 definitely Hyper Silver!! Will work great with your color and like PMG said will bring out all those subtle chrome accents! 22" for sure.
Did a quick photoshop of your car with them on :)

Nice wheels. With that much space between the spokes you might consider a BBK upgrade as the OE gear is going to look a bit weak.

Those wheels are tight, but I would get 22's if I were you and also drop it.

I agree with PMG, def get 22's though not 20's.

Don't wait. Get your money's worth out of the purchase and get them now. You can sell off the OE wheels or use them in the winter. I also prefer the Hyper Silver finish. I wanna see these by the time we do our spring meet! And you still need to change your regional club to Tri-State!!

Nice shoes. Go with 22s. The 2nd gen eats up 20s too much

What does this mean? The 20s don't look very big on the larger 2nd Gen?

Definitely definitely don't get those in 18s. If you are going to spend the money, make it worthwhile. 20s are okay, but there is still alot of tire sidewall. 21s have very few tire choices. 22s for the win!

^^ 20s look good on a 2nd gen, but 22s look great. There's lots of room in the wheel wells on a our cars..

Wow ........... I didn't realize the 22's would be so popular and I guess it's a given that the 18's are certainly a NO-NO especially when purchasing aftermarket wheels !?!?! I had thought I've seen something about being careful with the size of the wheels since it may affect the speedometer or miles of the vehicle correct me if I'm wrong ??

I'll have to see the price difference between the wheels/tires for the 20's vs 22's ?? OMG this forum is soooo bad because I want nothing else but to spend $$$ on my new ride !!?? Well I figure I'll be owning my FX for awhile sooo it's not like I need to get all these done right away and enjoy sloooowly but surely :wink (2):

There I finally changed the club to " TSFX " soooo I'm all ummmmmm yours now ahem ahem :wink (2): rather than NEFX's !!

Red Sox suck! Tri-State is where it's at!

Before I purchased my 2011, I looked at replacement prices on the 18's versus 20's. It's not much at all. Maybe $100 for all 4. 22's maybe be a little more expensive. 21's are more expensive because it's an odd size; the tire companies don't make many of them so they jack up the price to make it worthwhile for them to produce.

As for speedo error, yeah you have that all wrong. You need to remember that as you increase wheel size, the tire sidewall will get shorter and shorter. So the overall height of the wheel/tire combo is the same. So the speedo can be correct with 18s, 20s, or 22s. You just get the right tire size to make it work.

265/60/18
265/50/20
265/45/21
265/40/22

They all work out correctly for speedo calibration. You can play around with this tool here:

You're welcome! Yeah it always makes any decision making easier if you see them on your ride, just like with anything else, just because something looks good by itself, doesn't necessarily means it will look good on a car, like with clothes and shoes :))

And I'm sure you can give those models run for their money :)

Did another render, I think I went a bot over, they look like 24"s lol, but you get an idea! With bigger shoes it will your FX will def look mean!

Definitely don't do 18 aftermarket. 20 and 22 would be the better options. And like Logan said, a BBK will definitely help the look with those rims. =)

OMG :eek.: BBK's are going to get me into big , big trouuble though yes I do agree those would look F**K awesome behind those wheels no !?!?! I'm hoping to find a place here in the NY/NJ area that perhaps powdercoats the calipers whether I get these wheels or not !!

Those wheels are tight, but I would get 22's if I were you and also drop it.

Ummmmm ............. drop what ahem ahem :wink (2): ?? Sorry ............ juuust teasing ahem ahem a bad habit of mines !!

Yeah I really dont see those looking to good in 18's and it seems as if most guys agree that the 22's would be the best choice with wheels ............ 4 inches do make a big difference ahem ahem I know :tongue (2): !!
