don't think that's cut. mine needed to be cut shorter front & rear, front was with rotora lines not stock, but rear were stock & still needed to be cut a bit or it'll bottom in the caliper before compressing the compression washers... unless he sourced a shorter banjo? guess we'll see.

best advice is search around in a hardware store or whatever & try to pick up a nut that this bolt threads into, this way if/when it needs to be cut while installing you can do it, just thread the nut on just past the cut spot, then cut & file clean, then unthread the nut to repair the thread end cut, it also protects the threads above the cut & helps to get a square cut. should have this with you incase, I think you may need it...

do you remember how long were the original banjos you had?

I'll get them installed this weekend. Since the snow is off the roads now, I can test it properly.. I'll put up some exhaust sounds as well if I can..
nice! , I can't wait for your fitting/reviews. I'll digging up my coins (gather up savings) and will be visiting turbocad for further advice.

Soon, I thought you already got TurboCad's FX50 brakes.. So you guys did the test fit with spacers and saving for that now right? Did you guys test if your stock brake lines fit properly? I'm worried that they might not reach the 50 calipers.. John was using Rotora lines so they should be long enough already..

stock lines will reach fine, what I'm not 100% sure of is how much the banjo bolt needs to be shortened with the stock front line... it's possible there is a slight difference in the depth of the banjo fitting on the rotora line vs the stock, but I really think it'll be about the same & need to be shortened too... make sure you have that threaded nut to cut the bolt...

I didn't sell the fx50 brakes to soon, still on my fx.... he's probably gonna buy new... I'm not ready to make any moves with my brakes yet unfortunatley...

Here's the write up:

First, my initial issues with the OEM brakes:
  • Brake pedal was mushy for my taste, even with the steel lines
  • Brake pedal had too much play in it, which necessarily was one of the reasons of the accident (brakes weren't even biting when my foot was on the pedal)
  • When it had bite, it was too late, too little

Now with FX50 front brakes:
  • Brake pedal still had too much play (got the pedal adjusted at the dealership later)
  • The brake bite is substantially better when it bites (Infiniti should have gone with 4 pot brakes at the first place. Idiots to cut costs on the brakes)
  • My neck hurts when I hit the brakes hard.

I definitely recommend getting the fronts at least. Easy install, cheap upgrade when compared with other aftermarket offerings. Now one thing on our brake system is that the brake booster "boosts" the brake pedal only when you hit it quickly. When you increase the brake pedal pressure gradually, it's always mushy at the beginning and stiffens up later on, even with the new brakes. It's a brake system thing. So basically, don't think that your pedal feel will be perfectly direct when you get these brakes. What will happen is that when it grips, it'll grip good. I'm able to kick ABS even with medium-hard braking now which makes me think that the brakes are good enough to save me at an emergency level now..

I'd put up the g readings with my Escort g meter or post 60-0 times now but I didn't record them previously and lot's of things affect it so it's meaningless really.. Just take my word. It's a great upgrade if you're willing to use spacers or aftermarket wheels with more aggressive offsets. I'm using 15mm spacers now and it just clears the brakes so an offset less than +35 should be enough unless the wheel spokes are too curved inwards.

I didn't take any pictures of yours I don't think, but here's a teaser shot of what these look like painted. these are rears, had to match them to a set of front brembo's on a Z that these winded up on, but you get the idea... these brakes are hot for the $$$

no text cause the guy had me redo the fronts also with the brembo stencil, didn't know what to do on the rears:tongue:
