theMerchant's Headlight MOD

I changed out my 6000k headlight bulbs to 5000k and wow what a difference.

I can actually see much better and they still look white. (cutoff line is more defined)

Highly recommend 5000k headlights for function and aesthetics.
 
I went from 5000k to 6000k. Some reason things look better in 6000k. But i guess its all a preference.
 
good job dude....but i wonder now what it would look like if you didn't add the projector into the outer light and just switched the wiring...IMO the signals were pretty bright as is..
 
hey, that kind of looks like what I may be getting done from 1080customs in NYC (igor on g35nyc.com)
I' getting something similar to the "iron-man" led'mod done, which is where there are 12-16 LEDs set up in a circle around the headlight projectors, so they appear to be like iron man's chest plate thing.....so what your doing is very similar. however, they drill holes and do each led individually while yours seem to be on a circular circut thing or something.
either way, they look liek they will turn out great!
 
each time when i think i have THE idea for my headlights new ideas pop up...!! When do you guys ever stop modding these things......?!?!? :tongue:

Alan did you get them custom made to fit in the diameter of the FX lights?

Looks good... NO inverters needed right? Looks like they only pull about 6 to 8 volts?

Now what would be really killer is fitting the existing CCFL halo plastic housing around your new set up so they look like they are one actual piece....

This will look especially good since there wont be a gap that the current CCFL Halos have at the bottom when you place them on the headlight....

Great direction your taking.... Keep us in the loop and share with everyone else if you wish....

*Im already thinking about a "tube" to go over it for a more filled effect.
*they take 12v (already have resistors on them.

wow, those look really nice, smd's, looks much nicer than the flexy things I've used, do they fit inside the rings from behind? you made those?

Clear.... I would basically take the existing CCFL AE apart and give you the back and the front .. Hence the entire housing...
 
If "the man" gives you a hard time, it will be for the fact that your turn signals can't be seen from your blind spot anymore.
