The long awaited gtspec group buy

Thanks for the feedback, I will take a look at the liner and see if there is any indentation. It's not that big of a deal, I just notice I use to be able to drop the hood slowly until it clicks and then I would press on the hood to close it completely. Now I just need to press a little harder than before.
StyLax18, you're in San Jose which is very close to me. Maybe we can meet up one day for a local meet?

I'm at Santa Clara, to be specific. I don't have my FX though this year. But some woman decided to park her's, which looks just like mine, right in front of my dorm. But if you ever need help with something, feel free to drive by. I'm right by The Alameda and El Camino Real. There's at least one gate over here that's always open into a parking lot. The one I can see from my window I think is closed, but looks like it's manual open.

Going in for my brace install today (at least partial depending on how long it takes them to get the Invidia exhaust install completed and the before and after Dyno runs pulled) have a client meeting later today that I can't miss so my timing is tight-sucks, don't clients understand how important all this is? Quick question RE: the GT-Spec install-I have searched for the pic that someone had posted of the cams being marked with whiteout to make sure the alignment remains in place during the install. Anyone remember which thread it is attached to? I have a STACK of images for the install but that's the only one I couldn't seem to find.

FYI-I did purchase a can of AEROKROIL and tried it on a couple of the exhaust bolts, highly recommend it, hosed them down, waited a couple hours and they spun off like new.

Do you go to g35driver, if you do you probably saw the pics there of the cams being marked. My buddy posted his install of his brace on his 2nd Gen G35. If that's the one I can find it for you.

lol, we didnt forget about you guys.. We just need a minimum order of 10 units of each brace to place the order. We need to gain a bit more interests... If you are on other FX sites please spread the word on this GB>

Dying here-Just did a detailed write up on my install and somewhere during my log-in 200 times process I lost my post.....SO in a nut-shell (and a much less wordy post). Everything is in, car rides a bit stiffer but better, closer to a sport sedan ride.

Install went smooth, printed off a STACK of images from past member installs (VERY helpful to start the process at the shop) BTW thanks for the quick cam image Merchant, I was seriously running out the door and you came through just in time.

Car currently sits 1/2"-3/4" higher in the rear. I read in a previous thread that when the wheels are not under load the rear braces pull the suspension in? Any idea if will they will push back out over time and the car will drop or do I need to loosen them up under load?

FYI-Install cost for all four braces (I know that the two rear braces are EASY, I don't have a lift) $200.00. Maybe a bit high, but these guys really paid attention to detail.....they did the Invidia Gemini exhaust at the same time so there was some tweaking going on (I'll be doing a separate write up on the Invidia with GT-Spec clearance pics and Dyno pull results)

The members that have spoken highly of the full GT Spec set were not blowing smoke (like my new exhaust) its worth every penny.

damn, gotta hate it when an epic post gets lost, when you realize you click the back button & only staring at a blank text box, I've had that happen too many times

strange that it would be higher in the rear, I'd suspect that the alignment wasn't maintained tbh... nice to here another good review

No kidding, its like that well thought out email that just disappears. You ALMOST want to say screw it but you just can't after all the initial effort.....

They marked the bolts/cams and after they tightened it up I checked it out and it looked like nothing had moved. I just went out and started up the car (so one of the designers could hear the exhaust), def sitting high water style.

Exhaust sounds great.....

I couldn't imagine there'd be that much flex though, enough to influence ride hieght by that much?... don't add up... I'd def recommend an alignment at that point... don't remember seeing anyone else mention a raised ride hieght after the rear bar installs...

ps, on the posts thing, if I'm doing a long post now I just click go advanced, & then periodically review the post as I'm typing it, that way worse case if it did get lost just go back & refresh, it'll resubmit the data & your post will still be there at least up to the point of your last review of the post... it resubmits the data till that point because that's what the previous page was based on...

technically yes, but guys are trying to mark it before & hopefully not have to. personaly, after doing my own alignment I can tell you that even the slightest movement of these bolts are going to affect alignment & theres really no way your going to be able to maintain an exact alignment with the just marking it technique, especially considering that when it was adjusted the suspension was under load while being aligned & you just can't get the exact same acurate alignment by just marking the same spot, although it should still be kinda close really I guess......
