If you were to take off the bumper & grill off the 09-11 fx as one piece and replace it with the 12' it will/should bolt right up. Willing to bet it will. There not going to change the looks/shape of the hood and fender just for the front end when there is no need to. All they did was redesign the front bumper & grill that will bolt up on the 09-11 for a inexpensive update.

Do you understand what everyone above means by "front bumper"?
I am referring to the grill. There is no way the new grill will fit on a 2009-2011 FX.
The part you are missing, and what everyone keeps telling you over and over, is that the new '12 front bumper will fit an '09-'11 FX. At that point you will be fitting a '12 grill into a '12 front bumper. No one is suggesting that the '12 grill will fit into a '11 bumper.

Well, we'll see how compatibility works out.
To me, the new grill appears more traditional. The old one seemed avant garde. I believe the FX deserves more sales than it got versus the MLs, so tamed styling could help. I like the muscular bulges on the hood, but hoped they'd be reduced to help see curbs.
Had an odd thought, the curved styling of the front has an almost Roger Rabbit type appeal, an intentionally drawn power design -- highly expressive.
