The 2012 Infiniti Lineup: Charting the Changes

When they list revised 'front fascia' design, could that include a change to the headlamp design? Or just the lower portion of the front of the car?

Could be anything. My guess is a new grille and a new bumper with chrome inserts somewhere, like around the foglights. It will probably have less unpainted areas too around the bumper. I doubt they will redesign the headlights, since they have projector shrouds already.

The only thing I wanted to see added was the 3.7 engine.
I'm happy with all my options on my loaded 09 FX which came standard with paddle shifters and now that I have the Aero front spoiler, the front end rocks.

"A new exterior color, Graphite Shadow (replaces Platinum Graphite)"

Oh no, they're replacing the Gray Gray with Gray Gray! Thank Infiniti that they're still keeping Liquid Platinum, so we'll still have Wet Gray.

Thanks for posting the list/release. It's interesting to keep up with, even if I know I'll be stuck with an obsolete product. I'm pretty happy that not much has changed for me.

See here's my confusion I thought all fx's came with heated seats even if you don't get the premium package. I thought the premium package just gave you climate control seats not heated seats at the least. Now you have to spend more to get something that was in a lower package? Not cool Infiniti!

based on the 2012 M, looks like the rims are going for the GTR style rims...I wonder if they are going to introduce something similar but 21 for the FX50 one day....that would be pretty sweet.

Mods ...

It probably will be interchangable because the one for the G37 is. Actually 180 customs on here and been doing it for a while now. People with 07-09 G37's have updated to the new 2010+ fascia.

So do you guys still believe the 2012 FX revised front-end is interchangeable with the 2009-2011 models? I say no way that can happen.

Looks like all you would need is the 2012 bumper and grille, all of the lines seem to match up.

There is no way the lines match up. The shape of the grill, esp the top of it, are completely different then the one it is replacing. And the sides of the grill are a totally different shape compared, where it meets the sheet metal of the earlier model.

Jeff said if you replace the grill AND the bumper....not just the grill. I agree that if you replace BOTH then the lines seem to match up.

Yes, but as you can see in the pic..that is all part of the front bumper. As said earlier, looks like all you would need is the front bumper cover and grille.

Gotta agree with Jeff. The lines seem to match up. Did they do anything to the rear of the fx?

Hood

+1 Jeff is right, it'll bolt right up. Fender and hood lines are exactly the same along with the headlights.

The lines DO NOT line up. The shape of the front of the 'hood', the sides of the hood area, the head light area, it's all new and modified sheet metal. It's a new shape, etc.

You can't just connect a different grill, it won't fit with the other changes to the front of the car.

From this angle, you can see the differences better.

...

Do you understand what everyone above means by "front bumper"?
