Quetion: what is a test pipe and it's function and can it work on my '03 fx45?
 
A test pipr replaces your catalytic converter. It is illegal and if you have to go through emissions testing you will most likely fail unless you have a hookup. You'll lose low end torque and posibly gain high RPM HP. It'll also make your exhaust louder.

Honestly since the FX isn't a race car I wouldn't bother going that route. If someone is trying to get you to install some and are taking your cats in trade then they are getting the very big end of the deal (in fact they are ripping you off).
 
I had test pipes in my fx for 1 day... it was so raspy & obnoxious & loud that it was embarrasing to drive... was with headers & an exhaust, but still cat delete is very noisey & raspy... not for an fx... sounded like a lill civic rice burner or something...
 
if you get resonated test pipes there will be no rasp. And as for it being illeagal it depends on the state you are in. As i disagree the FX is a race car. lol
 
Brown_fv got test pipes at some point. I think he made videos. Frank also might have, but I'm not near as sure about him as I am Brown.
 
You can still cheap out and get resonated. There are some for like $200 or less. I think Ichiba has some, and Megan Racing makes some with a flex piece.

When I spoke with Tony last December he asked me about getting one so it must be somewhat feasible. I bet he could fab one up if you wanted it.
