So still looking at buying an fx but a few weeeks ago i test drove an 2008 fx at a dealership near where i live. I was really disaapointed the car felt like it was dragging an anchor. real slow, the sterrting was real tight even the seats felt like the side bolsters where pinching my back. Every time i hit a bump or uneven part of the road it felt like it would shake out the fillings of my deceased grandmother. I was like i was expecting a sporty ride but not that sporty. It left a real bad taste in my mouth and started thinking maybe the fx was not for me. SO i started looking elsewhere test drove rx300, acrua rdx, nissan rouge , nissan murano, kia sorento.
After this still couldn't shake the feeling of the fx and started to think let me drive another maybe SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE FX I DROVE AND NOT INFINITI FX IN GENERAL !!
So finally today i drove another fx. It was a 2006 with navi and tech package. The saleman also let me take it out myself which was better no one watching over your shoulder i could let the car rip a bit. WOW IT WAS NIGHT AND DAY. This fx was quick, steering was tight but not so tight. Even hitting the bumps was not harsh yes it has a sporty ride and i felt the bumps but it was not like the first fx. This car was so fun to drive. I was so excited i was like this is the fx i have read about in many car website reviews. Now after driving the fx the only other car i would consider is the nissan murrano. The fx is still better in my books i don't like the feel of the cvt. The murano has power but doesn't have that kick like the FX. Just saving a bit more than I will go pick up a 1st gen fx. Can't afford a 2nd gen so its out of the question.
That's my tale of driving 2 1st gen fx35's can't believe someone made a luxury crossover that feels like a sports car. I should go back to the 1st dealership and tell them there fx is a piece of crap and they need to fix it as the car for saftey reasons alone and it drives horrible and someone is going to buy that thing so sad.
