Tear in leather seats

Infiniti should really step up and do something about this. It seems just as common as the bubbling dash. My driver side seat is torn up in the same place.

I've emailed all the shops I can find on the internet to see if the have a leather kit for this car and all of them say the same thing NO. :mad.:

On the 06 and up the seat controls are on the door so maybe a seat swap would be possible (passenger to driver and vice versa) but i think i read somwhere that it still could not be done.

My '06 seat controls are not on the door.

magicmender worked pretty well on my seats. they do a good job on matching the leather paint too.

I also have a tear in the same location on my drivers seat. So I think it would be better to get them both repaired professionally.

I just had the vinyl on the side of the driver's seat repaired. It was completely shredded. I took it to a shop here in the valley and the shop's owner said that he sees FX's all the time with cracked vinyl in the same place...the left side of the seat bottom.

For $170 they repaired the replaced the vinyl with a new piece to match what was there. Good as new. I just wish Infiniti used thicker vinyl there, or even better, real leather.

Which shop did you get the work done at? Are you still happy with the repair? New to LA and cracked driver seat is driving me crazy.

I went to Nacho's in North Hollywood. The seat repair still is as good as when I had it repaired. I heartily recommend this place.

I took it to a local upholstery place and he did not even have to remove the whole seat. Just the top portion. He knew what he was going. Cost me $100 to fix the driver side seat and it looks like new. worth the money spent, otherwise if you are wearing shorts it will "bite" you ;-)
