Thanks, lost a snap on socket right by the throttle body, i dont know where it fell, right under the intake tube and tb there is an openin by the plenum engine area , hopefully ill find it one day. Expensive snap on 10mm deep socket
I lost mine once, can't remember where I was using it, but it ended up on top of the crankcase, underneath the lower plenum. Found it like a year later when cleaning up the plenum/TB/etc.

How many miles have gone since you cleaned that last time?

thats worse then mine and i havent touched it since 04

It's those damn K&N filters! :p

Stu's right, this is the supercharged FX. It has 107k miles currently, ~60k of which have been in its current state of tune (10.5psi). The pcv hose and intake tube are ultra-caked with the same gunk as well.

Plan on cleaning my 05 fx 35 Throttle body and have a quick question or two.
I know everyone says, letting the flapper snap back will cause issues. Is the best way to do the cleaning by slowly opening and keeping steady pressure on it always so its not allowed to close on its own? Do you open all the way or a lil? Lastly, would it be just as good to just spray each side very good, wipe and not touch the flap? I am very careful, just wanna make sure so I don't have to go to the damn dealer and get robbed [emoji2]

When closing the flapper, assist it with your finger to close gently. Do not let it snap hard on its own. I used a rag to absorb the shock when it closes. I made a mistake of aggressively handling it the first time I cleaned mine and it throws a code.

Those poppies are highly sensitive. Some are really lucky that their cleaning went without an issue. The pedal dance is not my best forte and I had to do it a hundred times to get the right timing. The only thing that gets me to persists and get it right was a $3000 quote the dealer gave me for replacing the entire TB assembly. LOL

So worse case scenario would be that I throw a code and have a high idle.
Just so I understand this right. I have to clear the code before the pedal dance trick? Now if I clear the code, pedal dance and start the car and still have high idle. Will I be still throwing a code or will the initial clearing take care of it? Wondering if I should just stay in Auto Zones parking lot.... I have never thrown a code before in any car or truck. Will it come up on the screen or can u only see it with a OBD scanner ???

The "service engine light soon" was what lit up on mine then I had to read code to see what it was and clear it to do pedal dance.

Once you have a code, it stays stored in the system. It's stored until you clear it.
The reason some people clear the code before doing the pedal dance is because they want to be 100% that that is JUST the problem and nothing else after the cleaning/installation.

Some people don't use an OBD2 reader and assume the fix is doing the pedal dance procedure, which.. Is most likely thr fix after a throttle body cleaning
