Sway bar-like brace underneath driver' seat fell off seat!

I noticed that a swaybar-like bar underneath the drivers seat separated from the seat frame. Did anyone else have this bar fall of the driver seat? I will post pics later today. The bar was hanging on by the wire clips that hold the seat control wireloom and was making a tapping noise on bumbs. It broke on each side where it was welded to the seat frame. I have just replaced my wifes Nissan Murano's seat frame for a similar problem, but her driver's seat lean to one side when the cross bar broke on her seat. The FX seems to have two bars underneath the driver's seat in the rear, where the Murano only has one bar in the rear of the seat. Do FX's have the same broken seat issues that plaque Nissan Murano owners? I have to replace my seat frame anyway since my forward/reverse seat motor has gone bad, but I was wondering did anyone else have the sway bar like brace underneath the drivers seat break on them as well? The driver's seat do not lean or anything, but it does squeak a little because it seems to have a little more side to side play without having the brace attached.

Have never heard of this issue before. Have you checked with dealer to see what their call is on it? Not suggesting you have them repair it as it most likely will be costly but they may have some input as to the "what and why".

Mine fell off... the seat still moved forward, backward and up but tilts a bit. No harm as I don't need the seat up, but this should just snap back into the location - I just left it aside for now as its tight under the seat to see exactly where it goes.

mine is broken at the welds, so i will have to either weld it back or buy a new seat frame.

It is just a broken support bar. Probably serves the pupose of preventing the seat frame from flexing side to side. I will order a new frame w/ motors from a Infiniti parts supplier for about $500.00. I was just curious to see if it happened to anyone else. I had the same problem with my wife's Murano except for the extra support bar, which the Murano do not have.

I would either have someone reinstall it or buy a new seat frame because the seat frame will flex over time and could break eventually. P.S. You can try to snap it back but look closely, it is welded on the ends on the bar to the seat frame.

Fix for rocking/creaking seat

My seat was creaking and wobbling side to side. I popped off the bolt covers, removed the four hex bolts, unplugged the wiring harnesses, and lifted the seat out of the car. I found the front tube was hanging down on one side, where the weld to its bracket had failed. The weld never penetrated the tubing! I cleaned it up with a Dremel tool and contact cleaner, then welded it up. A quick shot of primer and put it all back together. It was about an hour of work and FREE...if you have a brother with a welder and a nephew who can weld! Better than new.

Nice work! That very thing happened to my driver's seat a couple years ago. Not having a welding brother, I opted for JB Weld, which lasted about a year before the creaking returned. :(

I finally got around to changing the out the broken frame with a new seat adjuster frame I got from an online Infiniti parts seller for $500.00, which included new seat motors.:good: My forward and reverse motor died a while ago, so I needed that fixed anyway. I swapped out the adjuster frames myself, so I have a near new working seat for only $500 and a hour labor. I am good. Now I will not use the auto seat postion anymore and lose a few pounds.:rotfl: Maybe the driver seat will last until I trade the 45 for a FX50S.

Ouch on the cost of one of those. I just welded mine this week.
