Just trying to see what set ups people have done in their FX for amp and subs? I currently have two 12" JLs (in sub box) and a JL amp from my previous car, considering just having them installed in my 04' FX35. Overkill for the open cabin?

I have JL Audio 10W6v2 10" subwoofer in Wicked CAS enclosure. Plenty of power

Same here, WickedCAS for my sub!;) the cleanest way without compromising trunk space.

Man, seeing you have the trunk mat on reminds me to trim my mat to fit with the sub.

ha ha ... yeah, probably the easiest DIY :) takes like 2 minutes, saved my trunk floor from numerous accidents so many times.

2 10" Polk Audio + Amp in pleather-wrapped closed box, custom-fit. Fit perfectly in my 1st gen FX35 and in my FX50.

it's maybe 8-10" deep, has pretty great sound. Was thinking of adding ports to it

^ that looks pretty good, but seems to take up a bunch of trunk space. Trunk space isn't the biggest in this vehicle. I am playing with the idea of setting something up, but I would have to get the corner box or something.

JB how much did the setup cost you?

Did you DIY any of it or is it a professionally made item?

Nice setup but def no trunk space....My 100lb Doberman's crate is definitely not going to fit with that box. Looks like I am going to have to swap to the wicked C.A.S...unless I just take out the box every time I need to move something. Decisions...

How often do you transport stuff? It might be a hassle to go through that all the time. I practically live out of my trunk, clothes, shoes, now in the winter I have all different kinds of blankets, scrapers, shovel... I need the space. And that's not talking snowboard trips to the mountains with 3-4 people and their stuff.
Did anyone make their own corner box before? I hear it's not that hard, just time consuming and materials can get pricey but not nearly as 370$ like those other corner boxes. Plus to ship a box like that to me in Canada would be at least 100$ or more.

Thanks guys. I actually Bought it from another iS member back in the day ;) he had it custom built.

here's a pic with the cover drawn and the cargo organizer. There's still a decent amount of room for average grocery getting, etc. and if you are good at organizing you can fit a lot:

If I didn't get such a good deal I probably would have gone with an custom floor enclosure that takes the factory sub location for extra room. the CAS drives me nuts because it isn't symmetrical. I'm a nut.
The box was just aesthetically pleasing, matched the interior well, and was built well. Similar setup would prob be a few hundred bucks + the subs & amp.

Taken before it was all put together. 2 12"s, amp sits in the empty spot by the back seats. I used some wood blocks as spacers so the trunk floor fits back over all this. No spare, but that's really not a concern of mine. Carry a tire repair kit and run Akebono's up front so the spare wouldn't fit anyways.

It's been done for a while, that pic was from over a year ago, got the amp done over the summer. Right now I disconnected the amp to find a more permanent way to mount it. Still need to find time to build a trim piece so I can leave the subs exposed. But I don't do the car show thing anymore, so that's pretty low on the priority list.

you could have gotten another ones made for the other corner, then it would all be symmetrical haha I would have to get 2 made as well, I am just like you, has to be symmetrical or it doesn't look right

So you have this in the spare tire spot, and still have the trunk floor over it? How does that sound, doesn't that make the trunk cover vibrate and sound like crap? I never heard of this being done like that so I don't know.

It's just a false floor, pretty common in stereo setups. Trunk floor is made of wood and pretty solid, so no vibrations. Plus overall, there is a ton of sound deadening I added. Nothing touches, so nothing vibrates. It muffles it some, but I don't listen that loud so it doesn't bother me. Stock Bose sub is under the trunk floor too.

hmmm cool cool, that kind of gives me more option as well.

I know about the false floor, people usually put amps and wiring and what not in there, I just never saw woofers being under one. But that's cool if it doesn't rattle the trunk floor. I would be a little sketched out making long drives without a spare tho.
