Which works and looks the best! Custom box was designed for my IS350 Lexus and sounds pretty sweet, and the other box was designed and tested for JL Audio subs (w6 and w3)and hits REALLY hard! I like both.e98160b8325c276cc55ab456e678f677.jpg27055b2d2930112b939344c7e1b46ef7.jpg

Both look good but the box that was in your Lexus saves a lot of trunk space so I would stick with that. If trunk space is not an issue for you then that JL box is killer.

I'll prolly stick with the Lexus box. It's kind of custom looking in the FX. room isn't an issue

My question is what size are the boxes? What is the first box tuned to? What sub is going in either box.

I have the lc2i as well, very nice piece. So the second box is more suited for the 12w6v3. So i would use the second box as you'll get better results. Nice system by the way. I couldn't drive my fx without some bass. They are both prefab boxes, i would consider having a shop make a real custom box to bring that sub to life. But like i mentioned use the second box since you already have it and it's specs are close to what jl recommends for that subwoofer

Thanks Teemoney. I'm still debating. Need to wire it all up. I just don't understand the concept of people cutting wires in order to install subs. I'll tell you this when I had my sub in the smaller box, it slammed hard with just a tiny loc, and just right with the bigger box, then I went and got the lc2i DAMN!!! Turn it DOWN! lol. It hit harder then the smaller box, so I'm going to give both a try. Custom box for that cargo area would be a bit much. Interchangeable parts are good for me right now.

Well when using the factory head unit, you have to cut speaker wires to attach to the LOC. I don't understand why people cut there rca's when you can buy a lc2i and get great results as you have seen. Trust me, the smaller box (pic 2) is the better box for the 12w6v3. JL subs have always been small box drivers. The bigger box may get louder but you sacrifice sq. The w6 is JL's best sq subwoofer, take advantage of that. I would rather have loud and accurate than super loud and not as accurate.

Why can't you hook this all up yourself? I did mine myself and i don't consider myself a hands on person. What do you need help with, we can save you hundreds. The hardest part was running the power wire to the battery, after that it's pretty easy. Is it not hooked up yet

nice. Im gona install one my self & temporarily use the box i used to have in my bmw untill i find a place that can make me a nice set of custom enclosures

A custom enclosure desinged specifically for you subwoofer always gets the best results. The Mechanic, let us know when you get it installed. What subwoofer are you using?

So here's the install pics. Simple. Clean. Functional.78f79a0f7ba48c4a8588971a25551a87.jpgf5dd1255cda92bbd8f3886b1b78b4374.jpg280d8e15040f2cc2af36f6bb218f5f65.jpge4ee003129a94a9ac6bc99f9fa5fdafd.jpg

I have a single 12" type r in a sealed box i might put in for now until i find a place that can fabricate me a set of custom enclosures like rips.

Yeah one day for me, as for now, this works just fine. There's other things like rims, and tires down the road.

^^^Aftermarket amp and subwoofer was my first mod. Gotta have bass lol. Looks good. Did you try the other box as well?
