yeah so... im driving around with my 18s ( which i hate and they look soooooo small.. dam you IS:wink:) and my slip is on and my car is driving poorly and i begin to wonder if somehow popping my tire messed up my alignment.... take it to the tire shop that does my alignment and i am not thrilled when they send me to 'the frame specialist' and im even less thrilled when i get there and there is FOUR(4) guys looking at my left rear suspension. turns out that "bolt" i drove over was actually actually connected to a small pillar of cement... a few inches high... and i bent all three(?) control arms on the rear left.

its gonna be $2,000. i talked to the teamster boss and this is THE place to go to in burbank so that makes me happy. they are checking on used parts and i might get the teamster discount on labor

john/turbo.... used parts ok? as its not mechanical they should be able to tell right away if the part is good right?

thanks for letting me bitch out loud about myself.... at least i didnt set it on fire right?!?

ouch. :tears:

so when you ran over the "bolt" was there a LOUD clunk?

hopefully they get you fixed up.

....at least you had the mindset to take it in for service, not every person (man or woman) is smart enough for that.

yeah but the tire popped on the spot so really thats all i heard... and i could tell my baby was sick....

Are you sure you dont want WB lot to cover it now??

$2000 ouch.....good luck Ash:frown:

:frown:

I hope it works out ok. Why was a bolt sticking out of the ground to begin with? Could you go after who ever owns the parking lot?

Ash says that The WB owns the lot..and if she went and asked them to pay for damages..she might not have a job when she comes back:frown:

but that is A LOT of damage.....she might be rethinking it.

used parts are fine as long as there not bent, have to come from a reliable source, can't always tell by looking at the parts themselves sometimes, used parts come from wrecks & some guys will sell whatever they can, if the car was hit slightly in that wheel it may not be imediatley obvious after the parts are removed, if there not bent used should be fine... if you can even find them.

2k sounds high, doubt the parts are even 1k... I'll look it up tommorow...

its like 800 for parts and 700 for labor....
thats the first estimate... i aim high so that its always a lil lower than anticipated.... lotta on the fly in-head budgeting at work
as far as complaining... ive known people that said things like 'i think i should get more than 35cents a mile re-imbursement'... and then when the show goes on hiatus... they dont get asked back.... its just not worth risking all those paychecks when i know so many people not working... i make enough money that ill let this be an expensive lesson
but i will be making a formal complaint about the thing... having asked around... ALOT of people have hit it.... just not as bad as me

well you can always do the others a favor ask your pit crew to take a power saw or some rly big cutter and cut the bolt off....

and then take the bolt and stab it into the tire of whoever is responsible for taking care of the parking lot maintainance....

You should bring out a cordless grinder one day and go to town.

got my car back today... it still says the slip thing.... i called the frame shop.. they say i might have damaged a sensor. called infinti.. they say it might be low on brake fluid (really?)
so two questions....
anyone heard of the brake fluid thing?
and is it bad to drive the car if the sensor IS broken... im going to be really upset if i cant drive my car to the snow

Not just that but even low brake pads too.

I would get it checked out before heading up there Ash. You don't want something to go wrong up there in the mountains where you REALLY need your FX to perform its best. Especially with this weather.

Just get a hold of MTNFX...I'm sure he wont mind helping a girl in distress!
