Strut Bearing Broke again

thunk thunk sounds more amplified in warmer weather, found a pic from my past replacement.

bklynjohn: the new bearing is in somewhat a plastic shell, might be just part of the packaging.

on soons I could feel it in the spring, as he turned it slightly left & right in the spot where it made the noise you could feel the spring kick with the noise as the bearing binded then released, the bearing is what the whole rest of the suspension rides on & the whole steering pivots on this bearing.

Do you think a bent strut tower would cause the misalignment?

strut tower itself? man, that would take a whole lot of bending, like train wreck type stuff... def not the case here... again I'm fairly convinced it's just improper assy in some way or another, maybe just the nut not tightened properly or something not seated properly on assy, maybe bearing installed upside down, if that's even possible? don't remember off hand if it is possible to even do that but it very well may be...

I've seen strut tower damage (bends and actual tears in the metal) with my own eyes twice, both on lowered cars (and both without strut tower bracing now that I think about it). Bottoming out the shocks at speed will do it quick.

No bearings. Is this the new replacement without bearings? Or they screwed up.

that looks weird... come to think of it now, soon's looked a little weird to me too, but I didn't open it up... yeah, there should be balls in there unless they changed the design? I doubt it though, there would have to be some kind of rollers in a bearing really.. maybe there is another plate on either side that houses the balls? a little hard to tell from your picture

Part number is diff. than what I have here, as is the part itself. Mine came from a local Infiniti dealer.

I did it when I installed my H&R Springs and the only reason I changed them out was because I knew that when you take the old ones out they tend to come apart and ball bearings go everywhere. Besides as long as I was there I changed out the shocks and struts too so everything was new.

What the hell bearings did they send me? If they know what part is what then how'd i end up with this from an infiniti parts dealer.

I got screwed cause i ordered these months ago to prepare to change out the bearings. At that time i had no clue what the bearings looked like. 36 bucks wasted.
