Strong Strut Brace Installed

I was in the group buy for Strong Strut Brace that took place about 1.5 month ago. I received the brace 2 weeks ago. It looks really good. It definitely has some weight to it, and a high quality feel. I never had any other strut brace before, so I can't compare how it feels against another brace. The machining, painting, and welding all look really nice. The difference is really noticeable during high speed turns. The car exhibits very little body roll. The car feels a lot more planted. I was pushing it a bit on the freeway clover leaf on ramps, and it felt like I could have pushed it a lot harder. The install was simple enough. I had to remove a plastic wire casing to get the right side to fit (see picture below). It was the only step that wasn't mentioned in the instructions. Overall, I am very happy with my decision. If you don't mind spending more for a great product, I definitely recommend this strut brace.

Me too .. I would've gotten them as well if they weren't $400 .. .. They look good tho.

All these new strut bars really makes me wanna "trade in" my stillen for an NRG or this, i cant justify the cost difference just for the looks though since i already have one :embarrassed:

all I can say is, damn, that's expensive aluminum.
Stillen is fine for function if one has it already. The hardware on that is very pretty, but the chunky bar does nothing for me personally.
Looks great on your ride, but a bar is a bar is a bar.

Actually, if you are interested I think you still can get an introductory price for about $299. You can contact them at their web site http://www.strongstrut.com/

Thanks .. I have the stillen.

Here, here. :top:

Ya, well if it were CF or something maybe, possibly hollow AL, or additional mounting points as in that other one that was fab'd . . that might make it a "strong"er bar. But a solid, straight & heavier AL bar doesnt do squat for performance. It only makes it just Strong . .as the Stillen keeps the shocks "Still" . . chill?
A bar is just a bar . . . is just a bar

But the mounts are beautiful. Nice welds

Still just the same shit

this one really looks like a hybrid mix...the same kind of style of the stillen with the big bar look of the NRG. i am really starting to like this..powder coated black would look niice!

I don't think it is the same shit. Perhaps not a $200 performance price difference but I bet if both bars were stressed to its limits then this bar would out perform the stillen.

But for what the product's function is, is it really about those levels of stress?
Overkill is not a good thing when it comes to saving some weight. The Stillen bar appears to be a very well designed piece for the price point.

it's really not even a question of the difference in price. Very hard to prove either way, but the Stillen actually may be the better performing piece.

i highly doubt any of us take our FX's to the limits where can tell which piece would perform better...different braces are just for personal preference simple as that.

No doubt it's more expensive piece of equipment. Just like most products, there are different looks, quality, and selection for the same piece of equipment. The Strong STB has a non pivoting end joint, which is their specific design. It's the whole package of this product that justified it for me. To say a bar is a bar is a bar, I think is really generalizing it. If that's the case, why don't people just get a bar/pipe and weld it to the strut towers? I respect everyone's opinions, but who is to say either way without really examining a product out? Obviously the price point of this product isn't for everyone, just like many wheels out there. However, many people still willing to fork out the $$$ for, what they think, is a better wheel.

Very well stated. I agree and hope you continued 'pleasure' with the strut bar. I have the NRG and I like it also.

Mods please ... 'can we all just get along' :rolleyes:lol
