so what's the best way to store your winter tires?
I'm gonna be keeping the winters on stock 18's from April ~ November while riding on my stock 20's during the non-winter seasons.
Please share your ideas.
Thank you!
I wrap mine in giant plastic bags and stack them on their faces in my garage. Make sure not to leave the rubber contacting bare concrete as that will dry them out. Some people also put cardboard between each wheel to protect the wheel faces.
I use the tire totes with logo. I don't use the felt pads, I use cardboard on top and bottom, stacked on top 4 high. Large piece of cardboard on bottom extra to prevent tire/concrete contact.
The plastic bags I use I got from a tire shop and they are just the right size. I tried using some giant compactor bags from my building's trash room and they were too small. You may have to find ones that are large enough.
i turn old rubbermaid containers upside down and stack mine two high with plastic bags (got from the dealer, for free surprisingly). definetly going to use the cardboard as separators like people are saying. I store them under my bilco door stairs in the basement for a consistent temperature and the plastic tubs keep them off the ground
at work we store customer tires summer / winter and actually include very nice tire totes with purchases as well. Anyways I agree with the above no direct concrete or sun
