Hey guys, I haven't posted on this page in a while but have been browsing through daily, I would like to hear some of your input on the invidia exhaust. How does it sound compared to stock? Louder? Does it get annoying? I ask these questions because i have a really good deal to get the gemini with the rolled tips. I love my stock sound but cannot afford the Nismo at the moment. Does the invidia turn heads ? I would appreciate your input!

He man,

I've been driving around now for around 3 weeks with my Invidia gemini exhaust.
It does get louder at higher rpm and WOT, but not too much.
I mean, if it's giving power it should make noise, it's sporty sound.
IMO, unfortunatly the raspy noise is gone from the OEM exhaust, but now it has a more deeper tone.
You do hear some more resonation under the car but it's not bothering me really.

Besides that, it's stainless and lasts forever and an OEM exhaust is around the same price and will not last as long as this one.

Only thing i have to add is, when you do decide to go for this exhaust, make sure to have 2 new gaskets for the flange between the cat's and the Invidia exhaust as these are not supplied in the hardware kit that comes with the exhaust.
Also IF you do need to cut the studs of the cat's you will be needing new bolts/nuts for that as well (believe i used M12x40mm for that)

Invidia is deeper than stock, I actually prefer the tone. For some weird reason, when I hear G's and Z's, the stock exhaust sounds like it doesn't suit the car, almost too high pitched. Probably just me though since most people love the sound. Mine is customized w/ a Magnaflow resonated X-pipe to reduce some of the volume and rasp. The resonators that come with the Invidia are small and don't do much. So if you get the Invidia and it's too loud, just replace the stock resonators with a resonated X-pipe. It's only $100 and it's the same thing that the Z and G guys use on their eBay exhausts to cut rasp. For the most part, the Invidia is unnoticable, but there is a drone at 2-3k rpm. It's there on the stock exhaust too, just magnified with the Invidia.

FWIW, if you like the Nismo but find it too expensive, you can pick up a Fujitsubo. Basically the same thing, and they go for pretty good prices used on the G and Z forums. It's a Y-pipe back, so you can use your stock Y or get an HR one or aftermarket Megan or Topspeed made for the HR, those will clear the transfer case.

^ This. You will want to cut the 2K drone with larger resonators. It will deepen with time, start up is a nice woof, a little more power/sound. For the work/cost neccesary to upgrade the resonators you might want to go with the Nismo or Fujitsubo.

the thing is, I was not paying for this exhaust, i was trading my stock for it because a friend of mine is selling the car. i have to pay for the installation fee. But does the invidia produce a nice sound?

It's a nice sound, if you can get it for free, do it. If you don't like it, add resonators later or swap it for a Nismo or something. It's worth a lot more than the stock exhaust so you can't lose.

You can hear/see some of my sample vids on YouTube. Search thecopperfxguy.

I love the tone of the Gemini. Beefy at low revs, you still get the mechanical VQ sound at high revs (just deeper). No more hollow exhaust sound, and folks will not know its an xx35 coming from a mile away.

Getting ready to throw down on the Invidia. Any hint on where I can source the gaskets? Advance Auto Parts? Autozone? Ebay?

Invidia exhaust will be back in stock next week, it comes with gaskets. PM I will give you a better deal than eBay or Amazon.

^^ He will, I got coilover springs from him for a price lower than eBay or anywhere else I could find.

And as he said the exhaust comes with gaskets, but in the future if you ever have to replace one it's just a standard one you can get at any autoparts store.

Been communicating with Gordon on the Invidia exhaust since he's about as "direct from the source" as one can get. From shadow191's endorsement, you may be the go-to dude for other mods though...shadow: Thanks for the tip.
