You do have to take it all off to do the filters though.

But, when you hit it... BAM! The sound is worth it.:tup:

4. How often do I need to clean my K&N air filter?

If you have not experienced a decrease in mileage or engine performance, chances are your filter is fine and does not yet need cleaning. To be more specific, the filter does not require cleaning if you can still see the wire screen on the entire air filter regardless of how dirty it may appear. When the screen is no longer visible some place on the filter, it is time to clean it. When used in normal paved road, street or highway conditions, our replacement air filters that fit in the factory air box should require cleaning every 50,000 miles and our large conical filters on an intake system should require cleaning every 100,000 miles. When used in dusty or off-road environments, our filters will require cleaning more often. We recommend that you visually inspect your filter once every 25,000 miles to determine if the screen is still visible.

I've had my panel filter for over 2 years now and haven't had to clean it. I Just take it out sometimes and shake out dust and leaves to prolong it's life between cleanings. I think it has about 20k miles on it so far.
 
TCHUCK do you think that gen 3 Stillen intake would fit my EX35?

also, fxlr8... do you think the stb would be a good add on if you've gotta take the whole gen 2 intake off to clean the filters? I guess if it fits under the stb it wouldnt be so bad but it looks like it would be tight.
 
I JUST ORDERD MY 2ND GEN YESTERDAY. NEVER WORKED MUCH ON ENGINES, SHOULD I ATTEMPT TO INSTALL IT MYSELF? WHATS THE DIFFICULTY ON A SCALE OF 10???:eek.:
 
I have the 2nd Gen Kit sitting in the garage... Waiting to install when i get back from CES... I'll post a full review once complete... complete with before and after sound clips and Dyno runs! I. Love. This. Stuff. Cheers!

i love what all you guys done with the gen 2, but im interested in the gen 3 on the ex... has anyone tried to see if it fits before?

Hey HEX35, would love to get an update on your mods! Just got an '08 AWD last weekend and eager to get started on mods myself!
