Steering wheel swap?

I recently acquired a complete steering column from a wrecked '09 370z. Bought it for the paddle shifters to do a conversion to my '12 FX. It came with the steering wheel as well.

I really like the slightly thicker feel as well as the sporty squared off edges of the wheel. Looking at the wheel, it looks damn near the same as the FX where the air bag mounts.

I was thinking of doing the wheel swap along with the shifters. has anyone ever done this yet?

its been done for sure on the infiniti g37 probably would fit the FX. but make sure the steering wheel for the 370z has all the buttons that are on your FX wheel (cruise control, handsfree phone, etc)

Thanks! Regarding the buttons etc, I would reuse the original air bag/horn assembly from my FX. Just the wheel from the 370z would be used. It looks like a direct swap.....maybe?

If you're just using the physical wheel itself and swapping over your horn/buttons, I think it would work. If the physical dimensions are the same (which I'm sure they are), there's no reason it wouldn't fit. Nissan isn't going to design multiple steering wheels for similar cars. I'm shopping M3 steering wheels for my 335 and it's the same process, reuse airbag and buttons as wheel is the same.

I have the same feeling that the steering wheel alone should fit. You may need custom mounting bracket for the paddle though, unless your steering column comes with mounting bracket already.

Yeah, the '12 was kinda the step child year where Infiniti chose to delete the paddle mounts as well as the wiring..... I have the harness from the column to the paddles. Ill probably get the mounting bracket off Rex...
