mine went back as well.. so i went ahead and replaced it with the next thicker gauge. can't remember if it was 8 or 12.. there is still a very small shake around 70mph but i noticed as soon as the tire heats up and goes to 32psi, the shake is barely there.. sure i can air it up to 32psi but as soon as the tire heats up, it would show 34psi, at least that's what the info is showing in the car.. too harsh ride for my taste..

OK so I'm a stubborn ass. I changed everything in the front brand new. From wheels to wheel bearings to brakes and so on. I bought new wheel spacers thinking that was the issue. Even did the copper wire trick. Shake and shake over and over. Pulled off the wheel spacers and went for a ride just for shits and giggles. Wtf???? No shake. Fx rides sweet and tight but looks dumb as hell with 25mm in the rear and nothing up front. Spacers I bought were off eBay. No more of that. I have to buy a quality 25mm wheel spacers now. Just have to figure out what brand is proven.

I have three sets of H&R in different thickness and everyone that I know in the Chicago area using H&R, we don't have any shakes on the steering wheel. Currently running a set of custom spacer from Motosport-tech without any shakes as well. I'm sure someone will chime in that they have no issues with off brand spacer. IMO, they just luck out with the set they are using.

Ditch the Ichiba spacers and buy the H&R instead. This 2-peice construction is not great.

I've run off brand and name brand spacers on lots of cars and have never noticed any difference. The steering wheel shake on my FX is independent of the spacer (taking the spacer off does nothing). I've gotten it down to minimal w/ tightening the rack and new wheel/tire setup. A spacer is just a spacer so unless they machine it wrong and it's not level, I don't see how it could cause shake. I've yet to see a spacer machined wrong - sure it happens, but not on any I've bought.

I never had an issue until I changed my brakes. Now sometimes I noticed a slight shimmy at 60-80 mph, sometimes I don't. Seems I'm probably getting more used to it and ignore it.

Ichiba v2 spacers here and no vibration. On my old Honda, I would sometimes start vibrating as the tires wore down unevenly due to bad camber.

Anyone know what is behind the 24mm bolt? I have a power steering leak. I sprayed the nut off with brake cleaner, took the FX45 out for a short drive, came back and checked the bolt and it was a little wet with P/S fluid. I tightened it a half turn (which did make the steering feel tighter) but it is still leaking from that nut. I would like to maybe take the nut completely out and try some thread sealer or teflon tape on the threads to get rid of my small leak.

Awesome. Thanks for the reply and pictures. It is hard to tell from the pictures but is there any sort of O-ring or something that fluid could leak past and drip out of the plug? If not, would I be okay in sealing the threads with some teflon tape and hoping for the best? I would rather not have to replace the entire rack. Thanks for the help!

My steering wheel also start to shaking a little bit when I driving around 65-80 mph after I changed my 21 inch wheels and tire, the auto shop did tire balancing when I changed my tire. My current tire pressure is around 33-34 psi in cold tire.

Well, got around to doing this to my fx45 few days ago. It took away the will shake but it came back after a couple of days as I did not tighten it enough so I tightened it some more and now it won't return to zero. Although I'm fine with the slight over steer, it feels great especially at high speeds but I just want to make sure I'm not going to damage anything by tightening slightly more so it does not return back to zero. Also, there was a lot of grease buildup around Andover the bolt. I'm not sure if I can take it out and clean it or put Loctite on it...? I did see a couple of guys in this thread mention not to over tighten it but I would say it's only slightly over tightened and I made some local phone calls and that really wasn't much help. One guy at a local big chain alignment shop said 'tighten the bolt really shouldn't affect your steering' lmfao, don't know why I even bothered. :bulgy-eyes:
