does anyone what in75 lbs means , there is a torque specifications for those two bolt ????

This is from another thread. someone asked the same question.

"OE Specs are 35 ft/lbs for the strut tower nuts and Stillen recommends hand tightening for the through bolts on the bar itself which is around 20-25 ft/lbs."

i just replace the srtut mount bearing , but didn't fix the noise !!!, i heard something about some spot weld ????? does anyone know whats that all about?????? help

wend i open up the strut mount , the bearing balls fall out, replace it , still have clucking noise at low speed on most bumps . replaced the two fender bolts but didn't help at all, heard something about spot welding will fix the problem . anyone knows what thats all about? or where to spot weld , i'm driving 03 FX35 with 120000km PLEASE HELP

sorry to dig this thread up but , i've been having this issue recently, its been there before but now it seems to get worse, everytime i go over a speed bump or into a driveway its like a popping noise/click from under the drivers side , any idea if it could be this tsb issue?

Sure sounds like the bearing. You'll have to take apart the strut assembly to see if it's gone bad. I could tell you just by hearing it, but yur up North :(

so you think its the strut bearings? anybody have an idea how much to replace ? could it be a diy? or does it need to be serviced by a mechanic

Hub bearing, for me it wasn't a DIY. Mine went out and it cost ~$450 including labor to replace. I took it to my local mechanic and not the dealer.

Just be sure they know what they are doing, because the ABS sensor is on it and if it's old, it might break off and then that's another $100 or $200 or so to replace.

hmm i changed my hub bearing, it sounds like a clicking noise everytime i make a right into my driveway like a popping noise or something

It's the fender bolt then, see the first page of this thread. There is a TSB on it.

are you sure that the fender bolt is replaced? because my dealer did not change it. I found that out after I took down the wheel liner and and trying to check the bolt out myself. That kind of bad service may be happening too and unfortunately i have been the one experienced that.

strut bearing. I would bet on it. You can do it yourself if you can take apart the front strut, but if not, a competant mechanic can have it broken down & replaced whithin an hour. Part is $25- or so.

Regarding the fender bolt TSB, I think I have the same problem on my 05 FX. I get a pop/click sometimes from my left front fender area sometimes over certain bumps in the road. It is annoying, but I can live with it. My question is, is it a safety hazard if you don't get it fixed, or just more of an annoyance? Thx in advance.

More of an annoyance. But as a caveat -- the looser it is, the most chance of it breaking off, but I haven't heard of that happening.

Do you have a strut tower brace by chance, like a stillen? If so, tighten ALL The bolts, could be from that.

Ok, thx for that explanation. Nope...no strut brace installed.

clicking

i have a clicking noise as described, but does not appear over speedbumps or entering/exiting driveway. the noise appears when I put the vehicle into drive and start accelerating at approx 12km/h the click appears. could this still be the fender bolt as described or something entirely different? btw my vehicle is an 2006 fx35 awd and the noise appears on front driver side.
thanks
