Sport Suspension - Night & Day Driving Experience?

Hey,

Been interested in a particular FX35 without Sport Package / Suspension. I wanted to see, if the drive experience is night and day different to one with the sport package / Suspension? Aside from the wheels which I don't care for much, it says the suspension is sport tuned. Should this be a deal breaker? What does Sport Tuned suspension mean? Can I drop the car on set of H&R Springs and have the same effect or is it more intense and hardcore than that?

If you don't want any of the visual changes that come with the sport package, and only care about the springs, just buy aftermarket lowering springs. You'll be better off in the end, and save money.
 
Honestly, I like it more for the 20" wheels, silver rails, and clear tails. However, all of these things can be added later, and probably for less than the price of the package.
 
Either way you go you'll want to upgrade the springs. Stock springs are worthless compared to H&R sport springs. (I imagine the same applies to the Eibachs as well but I don't know personally...)
If you ever plan on getting aftermarket wheels, then I'd skip the sport package altogether. Not worth the money for silver pedals and rails, plus you can use the non-sport stock 18's for winter wheels.

Very good advise, I like that. Although while the Sport package may be useless, on a used cars the price you pay for it is dime on dollars so why not get it and just upgrade the wheels and throw the Stock 20"s on Craigslist or something. It's nice to have it, that way you are getting more for the money paying for the car.
 
Is there a way to tell for sure if an FX is a sport edition? (Like in the VIN or something.) Mine came with 20" oem wheels, but not the chrome rails, pedals, etc... I am wondering if my springs are the sport ones or not. I guess the more exact question would be, how do I know if I have the sport springs? More than likely someone just bought upgraded wheels but it would be nice to know if I already have upgraded springs.
 
There is no difference in the springs. It's the wheels they call sport tuned. Springs & bracing will give you the suspension tune you crave
 
In '05, they actually sent us owners checks for $500- for the misrepresentation. There's no diff in part numbers on springs either for sport or non for the early years. while that may have changed thereafter, stock springs are not the way to go for good performance. They're all real thin
 
Here's a comparative shot of my stock springs (right) vs the new H&R's (left). It's hard to tell in the pic, but the stock springs are a bit thinner.

after putting in 22inch aftermarket rims, i feel like my suspension isnt sport anymore, on turns my car literally moves it use to be stiffer
